Luxury hotel and restaurant. Great pub.
Lovely area in England and lots of interesting places in th area. Fiona in reception did a great job, all the staff was very friendly and service minded.

Restaurant only. Always a treat to come back here, something we have been doing to close to 15 years. Very pricey, but lovely surroundings (they really did such a great job with the restauration after the fire) and gorgeous food, as it should. Service was good, but waiter found it very hard to split the bill, and service charge added automatically always a slight minus.

What an amazing experience! Super friendly staff. Stunning room - we had a Barn room which looked out onto a beautiful garden. Huge comfortable bed, big bath in the room and snacks, coffee machine and comfy chairs. Real attention to detail. The gardens were beautiful and lots of relaxing corners to sit in. The food was amazing. We had an a la carte meal one night and the tasting menu the other. Be hungry as we couldn't manage all 9 courses and there are two possible extra courses as well! Really innovative fresh summer dinner menu. Breakfast had interesting choices and the Barn common area was again fantastically well designed and furnished. We will be recommending this to friends and it is on our list for a revisit in the future.

We had been so excited to dine here as it was on our list for years.
We finally had Sunday lunch here a couple of weeks ago and it was incredibly disappointing. The staff didn?t seem like they were too bothered about anything, they didn?t even come to wipe down the table between courses.
My starter of tuna tartar was nice, then my partners beef was also good. Everything else was very average, not very good roast potatoes, I also had to request we get a side of potatoes and vegetables each as my lamb was so tiny in comparison to the beef.
Maybe we should have booked in for the tasting menu instead of the Sunday roast. I just thought we would be blown away with whatever we ate there. I thought it would feel like a special experience. Very dissapointing and unfortunately wouldn?t return.

Called for a quick drink on a very hot day.
It was great to sit outside and relax with a beer. Although we just had a quick drink on this occasion we have eaten in the restaurant previously. Good service and lovely location

Although the food was quite nice it was extremely overpriced and much of it was extremely bland. Additionally, despite being the only people in the restaurant with over 4 staff, the service was extremely slow, taking literally 30 minutes to get the bill which was disappointing. Additionally, the facilities were not very clean.

What can I say. 10/10 for service and food. The best in North Yorkshire. Staff were excellent. Food was devine. You have to visit. Didnt stay in the rooms so cannot comment.

One of the best meals we?ve had in a long time. We?re now living in the area and had some vouchers which we were looking forward to using.
The food and service were absolutely fantastic. We?d love to return at some point soon. Pricey but worth a treat now and then.
