Nice to have the option of something without chips. Portions were generous and the beers great. Really nice pub located in the beautiful village of Hawes.
Parking: Loads of free parking (after 6pm) a stone throws from the pub behind the public toilets. No need to squeeze into the main square.

Saw the menu and thought we had to try this place. Both our pies were top notch, served in 20 mins, hot and good portion size. Very friendly service too.

We just had the most pleasant experience at this gem of a place. The food and the service were 100%. The fish pie was fresh and tasty. The lamb Henry was fall off the bone and melt inthe mouth. The dessert (sticky toffee pudding) was served with both a full sized dessert spoon, for those that eat in a hurry, and a small spoon for those that like savour every delicate flavour over a more relaxed end to a cullinary experience that should not be hurried. We will be back.

We arrived early for a 7pm table on a doggy Xmas Eve with two dogs Met with a lovely welcome and given the option of two tables . Service was great all evening and couldn?t have been more friendly . Food was soooo good , home cooked, hot and tasty . Would definitely return here

Nice pub and lovely Sunday lunch with a very special rhubarb dessert. Also went for dinner which was good too. Liver and bacon would be better with creamy mash and gravy which liver is particularly good at, so that was a little disappointing. Overall pretty good!

Well stocked bar and very good food. Welcoming, but service a bit idiosyncratic. Having shown us our table, didn't come and ask for drinks order until asked to come over. Food was wonderful, but not offered a dessert menu and had to ask for coffee.

Great food and better service. My wife has a gluten intolerance but for once had plenty of choice on the menu. Staff also adapted the dessert so we could share. They also made a note to let kitchen know even when dishes were GF. Really friendly service throughout. Food was great, more like restaurant prices than the norm in a pub, but quality justified. Friendly mix of visitors and locals.

This was a great place for a night out: the food was excellent, as were the atmosphere and service. Having enjoyed the whitebait and lambs liver I would very happily eat here again. The portions were a decent size so I skipped the desert, but my companions loved the 3 puddings combo and the boozy Eton Mess. The wine (Malbec) was good too.
