A great fish and chip shop. The fish and chips were terrific. Prompt and friendly service. Very popular at lunchtime, especially on weekends when groups of people on motorcycles come through.

I?ll admit to being a bit fussy about my fish and chips but these were great. Normally I don?t buy fish and chips if I can?t hear the sea so, to go here (which is about as far from the sea as you can get in England) was breaking my normal rule. So glad I did. Excellent. And the deep fried Wensleydale cheese was a new gastronomic experience - eat your heart out Grommit.

As usual, the food and service were excellent.
We live only 10 miles from the Northeast coast and its fishing ports, but sadly are unable to obtain fish of the quality served at The Chippy in Hawes, more than 60 miles from fishing ports on the east or west coasts.
We?ll return on our next visit to Hawes.

Sat down in the Cafe and had Haddock and chips. Staff were attentive, friendly and the food was excellent. Crispy batter and fresh fish. Obviously very popular for a good reason!

This has got to be one of if not the best Chip Shops anywhere, the fish be it cod or haddock are pure white and presented in a crisp batter. Chips are proper potatoes and again cooked to perfection. The Chippie also has pies on the menu, the steak pie is excellent and the gravy superb. I can highly recommend The Chippie for dining in or take-away.
