A very popular spot on a sunny day, this cafe is on the banks of the river in Knaresborough at the Lido. There is seating outside with fab views of the river by or you can sit inside.
The cafe is above ground level with a flight of steps and this also where the toilets are situated.
I had a really good cup of tea and a tub of strawberry icecream with a flake.
The cakes looked amazing!
Staff are lovely!

Captive audience for those on the nearby campsite. Simple food but no cakes!

We were recommended The Watermill Cafe by the owner of the campsite we are staying on. So glad we took his advice to walk by the river from the town, stop for tea and cake and walk back. We were served by a lovely, friendly young man and have to say the cake was delicious! The perfect setting to enjoy a brew.

i normally would recommend The Watermill but today this afternoon service was very slow , my husband and daughter had eaten their cake before my chips had even been brought out. I left so my husband got the chips as a takeaway in a bag after waiting half an hour . £10 also seems very expensive for a toastie.

My mum and I popped in for afternoon tea on 20th July and it was fantastic, the food was gorgeous and such a generous serving, which Rachel ( the owner) packed up for us to take home. We would highly recommend this place to anyone and can?t wait to be back

This was not an afternoon tea , tasted like margarine on the sandwiches and the cakes were slabs of cake not dainty afternoon ones also not clotted cream for scone . If you want to fill up on cake then this is for you . Nice by river though

So expensive, and despite it being very quiet, they completely forgot our order twice. Coffee wasn't bad and the view is nice if it's sunny

My dog absolutely loves it in here, the staff adore him too. So much so that it's a battle trying to walk past the place when it's closed.
We only recently moved to Knaresborough, however this is one of our regular pit stops already.

We had a lovely afternoon tea on Monday. The homemade cakes were so nice especially the flap jack. We even bought some to take home with us. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the location by the river is a lovely setting. We would definitely recommend this cafe. It is worth a visit.

Arrived at a busy time, so I expected to wait for food. I ordered a breakfast roll. Bacon, sausage, egg & mushrooms No tomatoes. 20 minutes later, my sandwich came with tomatoes. Sorry, I said my order had no tomatoes. They took it away and brought it back with no tomatoes but with beans on. I like beans, so no problem there.
On eating my sandwich, it was cold, and on closer inspection, all the ingredients had tomatoe on them. So what they did was scrape the tomatoes off and sent it back.
Very disappointed.

Why do Harrogate cafes charge a reasonable price for a breakfast, then add £2.50 for a pot of tea? Breakfast is then not such a reasonable price. Elsewhere they seem to include a cup of tea with the breakfast.
