Went to Pets At Home Harrogate with my family to buy a hamster. The manager Angie was possibly the rudest person I have met in a while, showing a total lack of customer care and disregard to any of our questions. As the manager I would expect much better. She then refused to serve us.

One of my worst experiences!! The manager (Angie) is either horribly racist or suffering from severe disabilities. Overheard her talking to an Indian woman so rudely for no apparent reason and then refused to serve her. Really quite shocking and not something I would have expected to see in Harrogate or anywhere. Sad this is part of our town.

1 because I can?t give 0. Went into store to buy a dwarf Syrian hamster. Angie the Manager condescendingly explained that dwarf and Syrian were separate. She was patronising with our queries. We tried to ignore it and be friendly but?????. Rest-
Me- I want to send it with my son to London by train as a gift.
Angie- no you can?t. It can?t travel. I won?t sell it to you.
Me: okay but can ?
She walked away. I called after her.
Me- can I ask you a question (intent: buying one in London)!
Angie the ? manager?: no you cannot. I?m not speaking to you anymore.
Refused to acknowledge me after that.
I was completely taken aback. She was quite happy to give me her name. Customer Services Michael O took my complaint but also told me that the complaint procedure for the customer ends after making the complaint. In my opinion, Angie was okay to give me her name because she knew nothing was going to happen.
Don?t shop here. Angie is the worst customer contact I?ve experienced. Can?t even call it a service. Shame on Pets at Home.

This place has lots of animal food, bedding and toys. However, I wouldn?t recommend buying an animal from here.

I was treated badly by the lady when I asked to buy some fish to replace the fish that died in my aquarium, she started asking what type of aquarium I had and even though I explained the measurements and explained that I just wanted to replace the losses, they refused to sell the fish and even started to raise his voice at me being quite rude, it was the second time I went to that store and the last.
In my opinion, she just didn't want to have the trouble of catching the fish because it was almost closing time (19:30 04/10/2024) and my aquarium is empty compared to the aquariums that are on display in the store and my aquarium is bigger than the ones he has.
I don't recommend
