One of us is a coeliac so when we spotted this all gluten-free cafe we had to visit for morning tea and cake. Its a cosey compact space and obviously popular with locals and visitors. Ironically the non-coeliac among us has a serious strawberry allergy and had to have the beautifully presented slice of cake adjusted due to the strawberry garnish. there is a fabulous range of home-made cakes and great coffee and Yorkshire tea,

Best selection of gluten free cakes I?ve ever come across in over 30 years of being a coeliac, beautifully presented wish we?d been in the area at lunchtime

Three of us called in for cake and coffee (one coeliac) which was delicious plenty of gluten free options rather than the usual single option. So we decided to have paninis which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. A fully gluten place is the way to go. The place is cosy and I was delighted to find paper towels in the toilet. I wish you continued success

My wife and I have been visiting Thingy-Ma-Jigs Coffee House in Guisborough for several months now on a weekly basis. Sadly, we can't visit more than once a week due to commitments - if I had my way, I would have my breakfast there, Tuesday to Saturday! Bruce makes, in particular, a terrific cappuccino and our other personal favourites include ham and cheese panini, corned beef & potato pie and freshly baked muffins. Have to be grateful to Bruce and his family for all their hard work and commitment to all of us Coeliacs (but, to be honest, I believe anyone, Coeliac or not, would enjoy a visit to this welcoming coffee house).

Epic fresh scone and deliciously creamy take away soya coffee! Usually go in to sit for lunch, so this was our first take away breakfast, excellent!

If you visit Guisborough I highly recommend you call in at Thingy-Ma-Jigs, a quaint little cafe, especially if you are Coeliac but go even if you aren?t as my husband thoroughly enjoyed his lunch as much as I did! Having chatted with Bruce, who owns the establishment, I discovered he does not have any gluten on the premises whatsoever so there is absolutely no fear of cross contamination. He also told me that he makes all the scrumptious cakes himself. Thank you Bruce for your hard work and dedication!

The best coffee shop I've ever found. It's totally gluten free and has loads of dairy free/vegan options too. The afternoon teas are to die for. Amazing quality and a brilliant price. I'd never go anywhere else for one. I'm pretty sure, with notice he can cater for other allergies/intolerances too. Its a small family run business and you really get that homely feeling when you go in. Bruce, works really hard to bake all the wonderful treats and works in there 5 days of the week. He's the sort that knows all his regular customers by name and their order. It's so funny to watch people walk in shout "Hi Bruce" before he replies with their name and asks if they want the usual. It can get really busy but you see people leaving when there's no seats and popping back as they won't go anywhere else! On weekends you'll meet his lovely wife Sarah, his children or in laws all helping out and they are equally lovely, welcoming and friendly. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

I noticed a bad review based on a misjudged evaluation of Bruce. It?s impossible to understand a stranger based on a first encounter. Honesty is rare, especially these days, so rather than attempting to discredit a clearly amazing person and business, that person is advised to think before they speak and judge a gluten free food and coffee shop based on its coffee and gluten free food. Everything tastes amazing every time, and Bruce manages to do it all pretty much on his own, with help of course.

Heard the vegan options were good so thought we would give this place a try. On entering and asking about the options the owner named Bruce was very rude, patronising and unhelpful. We were made to feel very uncomfortable for asking questions. I told him he was rude and walked out. Made a complaint on their FB page to be met with hostility from his wife and abuse from a couple of his regular customers. His wife defended hoping obviously and said he was just direct. I think I know the difference between direct and downright rude . Would not recommend this place to anyone. My original comment on their fb page miraculously disappeared.

Really liked this place. Gluten and dairy free options for lunch and cakes. The place has a really nice vibe and a friendly gaffer. Highly recommended.

Continues to be amazing, THE best hot chocolate in the area, fab coffees and gorgeous cakes. Dog friendly is a must and this gets a massive thumbs up from our pooch who loves her fusses. Thankyou x

Truly the very best gluten free coffee house for miles! Delicious homemade cake and coffee! I particularly love the toasted paninis. A unique ambience, where everyone is very welcome, including doggy companions! There's even an open bookshelf for the literary minded. A fantastic place, and a credit to the owner, Bruce. It's our go to place everytime we go to Guisborough. Highly recommend!

Excellent little place, Cakes were amazing all homemade, I had corned beef pie which was unfortunately lacking in taste that day was very bland and i thought the pastry a little undercooked but i still ate it, Staff lovley especially Bruce ? nothing too much trouble, the only thing i didnt like is dogs in there as im nervous of them, i feel like there should be only maybe one in at a time and down the bottom bit as im scared of them and passing them so did feel a little nervous and made me want to hurry out . I can recommend the Battenburg cake

They are a little away from the main street in Guisborough, so easy to miss. Head for the place, though! Easily walkable from the shops. Best cafe I have been in for a long time. Nice tea and coffee, gorgeous cakes (actually the ones on display didn't look as good as the real thing). They make a real effort to give you top-notch food at a reasonable price. I am going to Guisborough again sometime just to visit Thingy Ma Jigs! Everyone super friendly as well!

Great coffee, Tea, Panini?s and cake All prepared to order. Very tasty and much better value than the generic food on offer in the high street chains. Cosy eclectic coffee shop to spend a little time
