The building is grade 2 listed, a typical Victorian pub which retains an old style bar, a true drinking room. The no mobiles rule is strictly adhered to so people talk to each other. The landlord is friendly, the customers are friendly! We drank Old Brewery Bitter served by handpump and from an Oak cask. It was fit as a butchers dog. We just stumbled on this pub,a pleasant surprise after a 13 mile up and downhill walk. The other pubs in Guisborough are nothing to write home about , this one makes up for all the others!”
