I love this pub.
This is a proper country pub which is nice inside and outside. The food was amazing as was the beer. The staff were helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you
The food was locally sources and freshly cooked.
Lots to see in the local area. Worth travelling to get to and enjoy a pint and meal.

This hotel is fabulous located next to the Egton railway platform. The landscape garden with flower pots add extra beauty. The staff are excellent and friendly. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with special added touches such as sweet jars and cotton pads in the bathroom. The restaurant serves high end quality food including a selection of fresh scallops & monkfish. I had King scallops with bacon & mushroom on a bed of tomato & tarragon mash. My husband had Bombay monkfish with mango & raisin rice & chapati.

Lovely pub, great friendly service and fab food. Stopped for lunch whilst walking from Glaisdale to Grosmont, dog friendly outside and in the bar, also a separate dining room. Menu ranges from sandwiches (substantial and served with chips and salad) to full dining which looked amazing. Definitely worth a small detour from the coast to coast footpath.

Drove past the pub by chance. We were not disappointed when we stopped. Excellent choice of beers and largers. The menu had so much to choose from. We will definitely be going back .

1st class food and friendly lively atmosphere both afternoons and evenings and set in lovely peaceful location especially on a sunny warm day . Fantastic base for a hiking or site seeing getaway .

My wife and I had a lovely meal (smoked haddock and hake from specials board). I would definitely recommend and will return when next in the area. Not cheap for a pub meal, but we both thought it was worth the money. Beer was nice but expensive. Service excellent.

Only downsides were no full length mirror and shower experience but these were small things compared to overall experience & cost
