Fab little pub off the beaten track but close to junction 34 of M62. Great range of lovely proper cooked meals, Good range of competitive priced drinks, and a nice personal atmosphere. Regular live music is the icing on the cake. 10/10, well done to the management and staff for turning this place around.

My wife and I popped in for lunch and were really impressed. We both had the fish goujons sandwich and it was absolutely spot on ? easily a 9/10. Generous portions, great flavour, and amazing value for money. The service was brilliant too ? friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. Highly recommend, we?ll definitely be back!

Was in there today we both had the fish chips and peas, it was the best fish and chips we have had in long time, we will be back when we in the area again. The staff are very friendly nothing was too much trouble

Called in too late for food so cannot rate but the ale was five star and inexpensive , just time for a couple of drinks. Lovely couple behind bar, welcoming and interesting chat . Friendly locals and visitors too, all joined in for a craic. Stayed overnight on car park in our camper, nice and quiet location but minutes from the M62.

Amazing home cooked food - crumble with ice-cream highly recommended. My niece won bingo tonight - she was delighted! Thanks to your friendly staff and great chef for a fab few days. Cant wait to visit again!

Was working nearby at Balne near great. Customer said food was good so called in and booked table. After finished job at the farm and it being our wedding anniversary thought a treat was in store. We wasn?t disappointed . Food exemplary , Staff welcoming and attentive. And landlord even commented on our Facebook comments wishing us a happy anniversary. Was long way from home 1hr 20. But would definitely go again. A little jewel away from the main roads.

My meal was fine, although could've done with some veg. I had a special, Fish Mornay.
Hubby's fish was OK, but the twice cooked chips were overcooked and soggy. He had fish and chips.
It was nice to see the place so busy. We stayed overnight in their car park as part of the Brit Stops book. It's a pretty level site, so worth considering. It was really quiet overnight, even though the M62 is close by. Would visit again if in the area.
