We used to enjoy visiting this restaurant because the food was always good. However, after our recent visit, we won't be returning. I ordered a starter of potato skins, which is usually enough for two people to share. But this time, there were only five potato skins on a small plate, which felt very disappointing for £6.50. The staff seemed inattentive, and the atmosphere didn't feel welcoming like it used to be. It's unfortunate because we always had good memories here, but we hope the restaurant takes this feedback to heart.

Myself my husband and two friends went to The Buck last night, it was quite busy with diners in the bar area as well as the dining room where we were.
The serving staff were really attentive seating us at a nice table with plenty of room around us, supplying 4 menus at the same time. Drinks were ordered, it wasn't long before they arrived. We ordered our food 2 small Pork parmo's for the guys a small Chicken armo for my friend with a small fish & chips for me.
We started to notice a number of flies around the mirrors on the wall next to us as well as at the back wall where another 2 mirrors were hung, there were at least 8 flies.
Thankfully they weren't interested in our table or the food when it arrived.
The Pork parmos and Chicken were enjoyed as was the big fat chips and a bowl of lovely fresh salad each, my Fish and chips were lovely but the fish was really small, I was a little disappointed if truth be told.
I did manage to eat nearly all of my chips with the small fish which is very unusual for me.
Overall the food, service and the price of £40.00 per couple was excellent. Maybe clean the mirrors and frames with something antibacterial to help stop the flies congregating on them.
Next time we will definitely eat in the bar as it is a much lighter and airy space.

Lovely little country pub, perfect place for food, especially as they cater very well for gluten intolerance. The food was exceptional and staff Lovely as always.

Gluten free parmo is the best ive ever had! The chips tasted like roasties , so good! The staff were lovely and the setting of the place is great..nice homely little pub would definitely recommend

Stopped in for lunch. We had fish and chips and the parmo, both of which were very nice. Prices are reasonable for the area. Car park on sight which is convenient. The place itself is a little tired and the condition of some of the cask ale was not great but other than that very nice.

Only 1 staff member that actually made you feel welcome, we ordered food and before the girl put it through the till my partner ask if he could change his mind, the answer was no! Ordered some more drinks I ask the girl if she could take our empty glasses, she turned and walked away! What a lovely experience on a Friday night.. not!

Hearty sandwiches, various parmo's and real ale, with a good view across the green, idyllic. Most importantly real, freshly made well cooked chips, awesome!
