We went to eat, like many people attracted by the series "All Creatures Great and Small", as soon as we entered we were greeted by a not very nice man, a young blonde girl who seemed not to be having her best day either and a lady who was the only one friendly local. The food is a little expensive but it was very good.

I visited this pub while taking in the beautiful village of grassington. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. They also had Bundaberg ginger beer!! This is never available in pubs these days and for someone who is teetotal and who is unable to drink colas (for medical reasons) then having a delicious soft drink is always exciting.I can't comment on the rooms as I did not stay here

Food & drinks: We ate here two nights on a run, which I never do, as generally the second visit doesn't match the first, but I was proven wrong at the Devonshire... delicious, hot, well presented food each night. Service prompt, friendly and all staff couldn't do enough.. would highly recommend the Devonshire Grassington

This is a nice pub and have felt welcomed in the past but today was different.Found a table in the bar and ordered our drinks. Plan was to have some food so grabbed menus, but food did not start till 5pm., but we was in for a good night. Whilst having our 1st drinks a girl came to the table and put a bottle on it! She said don?t worry, it?s not reserved till 6:30, this was the same girl we got the menus from! I found this really rude as they did not ask what our plans were or offer us to reserve the table. Very disappointed.I?d really think twice before going back. The Black Horse Hotel was so much more hospitable and do not turf you out of bar seats
