Would love to give this 5 stars, but sadly I can't. The main issue is value for money. This is a very expensive place to stay, and for the price you expect excellence. And this was very good, but not excellent. Room was showing its age, particularly the bathroom. Bed was uncomfortable. Check in, etc was slightly amateur, food was good, but not excellent. However the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the location is superb, and our weekend was peaceful, which is what we wanted.

Just had lunch there for my birthday, excellent food and service far nicer than the Devonshire Arms..the staff is amazing and Nikki cant do enough for you .

Amazing place went for afternoon tea.Weather was horrible roads flooded we asked if could be boxed .Nikki who was excellent said no problem and gave us pots of tea whilst we waited.Chef arrived with box explaining its contents and attention and care in preparation. Beautiful hotel and more importantly marvelous staff. We will return??

Afternoon tea for my birthday with family. All the food was delicious the staff were great and a huge thank you to them for catering for allergies without making me feel like an awkward customer. Beautiful setting we all really enjoyed our afternoon.Food & drinks: Hats off to the chef and team. Fabulous afternoon tea.

We have just spent two nights at this hotel, what a pleasure it has been. From our arrival to our departure, the staff were excellent, the service impeccable and the feel good factor was high. We went with friends and found the hotel after some of the party spent time in the spa at the sister hotel. Our room was large, clean and the facilities were excellent. Unfortunately we hadn't brought our guns, so the safe was largely redundant! We ate at the hotel both nights and the food was lovely, from the broccoli soup, the scotch salmon qualis egg to the Cod and Pork Belly it was all delicious, gracious service with a smile was standard. The highlights for us was the very young man who brought us canapes and served us on the first night. For such a young bloke, obviously learning his trade, he made us smile, thank you.We will be coming back as the location is great for getting around, the village is a short walk and the local walks along the river are a treat. Thank you Devonshire Fell.

Amazing stay at a lovely hotel. Very accommodating for soggy walkers with a muddy Dog. Room upgraded for free on arrival and we loved the little touches for the dog. The bed was super comfy and the room very luxurious. Food was really high quality and the staff were friendly and fun. Absolutely no complaints. Really good value for money.

We had often visited Burnsall and Wharfedale when we lived in Yorkshire and aspired to stay at the Devonshire Fell sometime for a special treat. We booked Afternoon Tea and a one night stay for an anniversary celebration and had great expectations. However, a week before our booking the hotel emailed to change the time without reason or apology. When I asked for an early room check in time to suit the new booking time I was told this would be charged at £20, I declined but the original booking time was re-instated. At check-in it became apparent that there was a large private shooting party dining and staying that evening and they were the focus of attention for the staff and had priority for room allocations & breakfast times! Afternoon Tea was indeed a special treat only spoiled when I found that the two glasses of complimentary prosecco had been charged to our room account at £9 each. This was removed when challenged. Our room had a disappointing side view but otherwise was spacious, clean & comfortable. Overall the Devonshire Fell experience was disappointing and is unlikely to be repeated.

We recently held our daughter?s wedding at the Devonshire Fell in Burnsall, and we cannot thank Nikki and the Amazing Team at the Devonshire Fell enough. The biggest THANK YOU to all at the Fell for everything they did to make the wedding day so perfect will never be enough. The time spent planning with Helen and her care, and the visits made prior nothing was ever too much trouble from the Events Team or Nikki and her team at the Fell itself. Every last detail taken care of, and the personal touch received was second to none. This truly is the most magical place to hold a wedding and not just because of those amazing views! We have had so many lovely comments from our wedding guests, from the minute they arrived with the views, on the wedding day itself, and afterwards. The location is of course stunning and blew away so many people who have never visited Yorkshire before, but the comments were not just about the location; we had so many about the warmth and genuine care that every single member of the Team at the Devonshire Fell put in to make not just the wedding day itself, but the whole of our and our guests stay so wonderful. Everything was so beautiful and perfect in every way, thank you again Nikki, Hannah, Mateo, and every single one of the team who really went above and beyond, and we truly are so, so, grateful for all that you delivered. Finally, a woof and thanks from our Springer for looking after him so well too, and of course all the sausages and biscuits!!! We will 100% be back to stay and say hello.

Excellent stay at this hotel The views are stunning and the surrounding area is beautiful! The staff could not do enough for you both at the hotel and the spa at the Dovonshire arms. Breakfast was also excellent Would definitely recommend and will look forward to staying again soon

Some of the most excellent, friendly staff you can wish for in a hotel First class service We had a beautiful dual aspect room with fab views - there were lots of little extras in the room which were well thought out and appreciated. Very comfy bed / pillows Fab food

It?s located in a beautiful setting and the hotel itself is cute. The beds are terrible as are the pillows. The food is not very good. Everything seems to come out our a package. The service is OK.
