Warm welcome. Just had a pot of tea in a beautiful setting. The Stepping Stones are picturesque. We visit this area annually and will visit again.

My young daughter and I had a fantastic 3 night stay, John and Adele are fantastic hospitable hosts.
A lovely breakfast was provided each morning with very generous portions, we ate in the bar twice, both cooked to a high standard and the service of the staff was exceptional.
Our room was very clean and tidy and very well equipped with everything we needed.
The setting is in a lovely picturesque village with a train station to Whitby within walking distance.
I can?t recommend this place and the staff enough and will definitely return.

Their curries are homemade and have deep complex spice flavours that are a joy to eat. Their drinks are well priced and location perfect.
The nearby stepping stones and shallow river are great for kids and adults alike.
The village has great charm with a free carpark and toilets.

Had a really nice meal of steak pie, chips and mushy peas at the Board Inn on Thursday 10th July 2025. The steak pie was very good. I will visit again. Highly recommend.

We live on the coast so we wanted a place more rural and this was perfect. In a lovely setting by the river,great hosts and excellent rooms. It's a must go to place for a bit of R&R.??
