Stopped in here before walking the Three Peaks and couldn?t have picked a better place. A lot of pubs in the area are known for not being too welcoming to walkers, but this one was the complete opposite. The landlady was incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. The beer was spot on, and the steak and ale pie with Stilton was genuinely the best pie I?ve ever had, rich, hearty and perfectly cooked. Finished off with apple crumble and custard which was just as delicious. Exactly what you want the night before a long day out. Couldn?t recommend it more to anyone walking the Peaks.

We hadn't booked but they found us a space anyway, the food was delicious. Cannot fault the service and will absolutely visit again. Thankyou.

Portions here aren?t meals, they?re full-on challenges. You don?t ?order? food, you square up to it. Come hungry, leave questioning your life choices (in the best way).

I stayed there in my Campervan, with my dog. The owner greeted us and pointed out where best to park, told us we were welcome to stay free just to have a drink in the bar.
I took Cassie for a walk in the local area, which was really quiet so she loved it.
The food was lovely and the Guinness was spot.
We had a walk up Dale Head early the next morning and again Cassie loved it. Great all round stay and will definitely go again.

Great base for Walking around the 3 peaks of Yorkshire. Happy to host campervans offering great food & refreshing beer.

Always good to park near a pub when doing a circular walk, had a well deserved shandy by the river & train track looking towards where I'd hiked, pen-y-ghent. Relaxing, peaceful surroundings.

a mile south of Cragghill Farm campsite. Excellent cask ale at competitive prices and friendly atmosphere. Frequented by camper vans in the car park. Better here than in Horton in Ribblesdale

We're staying nearby this week and had a fantastic meal on Wednesday and found out that Thursday was "Pie Night" so went back again!
We all had a great size portion of homemade pie, chips and peas and the meal was absolutely fabulous-the meat just melted in our mouths!
You need to go for a meal but especially on "Pie Night"

Nice simple, unpretentious Dales pub with friendly welcoming staff. Friendly locals bar including the local fell running club I think.
Good value standard pub grub and drink (very nice beer from Bowland Brewery in Clitheroe).
Proper fire. ?
Stayed over in our campervan (welcomed). Parking was flat and quiet. A few vans (campers/motorhomes) even on a wet October midweek evening!
Would def go back. ?
