Gargrave is not the first place you would naturally think of as the home of great fish & chips, but so it is! Our second visit to the Frying Yorkshireman & it didn't disappoint. Great crispy batter on a perfectly cooked piece of fish. The homemade tartare sauce is brilliant! Best of all were the great value kids meals, which come with a can of pop & some ice cream. There was far more fish to the fish bites than we expected and the kids were most pleased!

Excellent friendly service & food. All cooked fresh to order. Perfectly prepared & the Tartare sauce was superb. Not to be missed if you?re looking for take away Fish & Chips. There?s also an eating in option next door.

Great fish and chips lovely for children too . Small fish and chips for me and medium for husband . Children have a menu including fish and other choices ice cream and drink for five ninty five !

staying in our campervan nearby visited for tea on friday evening, good sign the takeaway shop was packed so we sat and ate inside the dining room, so glad we did proper yorkshire fish and chips, food was beautiful and cooked to perfection, lady who served us was so helpful and friendly, dont miss this if your in the area ?

The absolute WORST food I've had in years!! We've been to the restaurant here several times and always enjoyed but today it was closed so we got a take away. BIG MISTAKE!! When I started eating my meal the first couple of chips were thin scraps so I kept looking for the plump fresh ones - I found TWO in the whole box! Even then those two were bad on the end. We had to wait for the food to be cooked and we feel we have been given the scraps that were left over and warmed up. The fish also tasted like it had been recooked, it was inedible. For £16.30 we expected a decent meal but ended up throwing half away - I wouldn't even give it to the dog! The service was bad too, we were asked if we wanted a carrier bag and then told afterwards it was 25p! They even tried not giving us it and had to check that we had paid. Safe to say we will NOT be coming back.

A fabulous traditional fish and chip shop. Eat in or takeaway. We ate in. Delicious. One of the best.
