Me and my family attended the pool today. It was my babies first ever swim so we were really looking forward to playing in the baby pool with the toys and floating objects. My baby is 2 months old and my second daughter is nearly 2. We got to reception and we got booked in by a lovely girl who told us to head to the changing rooms .
We got changed and walked out to what we could see the small children?s pool closed off which was really confusing as none of the staff made us aware of this. My partner asked a mum who was in the big pool with other children what has happened. Apparently a child had soiled in the pool so it was out of action.
The main pool was absolutely freezing, we were in there for 5 minutes and had to get out as my baby started to shake as well as my other little girl. I have never get so cross knowing that the staff knew we had a young baby and a 1 year old going into a big pool which the temperature would not be suitable.l and never said anything to us about the children?s pool being closed?
I never write reviews but after reading reviews on here I can see this is a recurring problem in the establishment. I spoke to a manager/supervisor who quoted ?we have had a few people tell us this today? as a manager myself you ?manage? situations so they don?t happen again. We also tried to them feed our little girl and the cafe was closed so there was no seating to feed our baby.
We have sent an email and I hope to hear back from an understanding manager about this situation as we have never left somewhere so angry but mostly felt so sad for my 1 year old who loves swimming and was shaking with cold. To give you a 1 star review is kind of me.

Great facilities once there but not a very well organised party for us unfortunately.
Lack of communication, had to chase down members of staff for access to rooms/music/pitches and nobody there to tell us what to do/where to go and the procedures. Staff were late cleaning the room from the party before us and then we were left to our own devices? which I can?t help but think was down to lack of staff.
Over all, I wouldn?t book a party there again in the same format, but can imagine that with the right amount of staff available it would be a different experience as those we did manage to speak to were very helpful!

I dont know what has happened at york sports. but it's gone from being highly organised....to a total shambles. frequently turn up not knowing whether the pool is open. (they sight staff shortages, lack of chlorine and heat, amongst other reasons). the little pool is rarely open so they move lessons to the main pool... so when it is open there's no room for swimmers (1 lane for swimmers this morning). the pool resembles the Royal rumble at this point. Also swim time for members only total disappeared.
Don't expect the spa pool to be open... thats closed as much as woolworths
There's been no coffee shop on site for months with exceptuon to the charity one thats rarely open on a morning. , the snack machine often cant take cash.
The gym has relentless faults with machines and often they don't link up to the Internet. often difficult to find staff on an evening in the gym would not like an emergency in there.
terrible I have now cancelled my membership after 12 years

We had a football birthday party booked at sports village. We are absolutely happy with communication before and after with Marz. The children had an absolutely amazing time playing football tournament and practising skills. The staff who was running the football was absolutely exceptional! They very kind, supportive and energetic! Thank you for making it memorable for us.

we regularly use the york sport cafe on a saturday morning when we attend to observe our grandson taking part in cycling activity.
It takes a long time to get served and we often have difficulty finding somewhere to sit and eat the food and drink we buy, because people come to watch their children in the pool and monopolise the tables and seats in the long term
I would not use this facility if there was an alternative
