Would highly suggest this place, their lamb chops are so delicious and would recommend lamb dishes as it?s cooked to perfection,the flavours are so authentic compared to other Indian restaurants around

A lovely restaurant, very stylish and smart. We visited on Sunday and it was their ?specials day? they do this both on Thursday and Sunday. We were unaware of this and the waiter kindly pointed us in the right direction to have the special deal of starter and main course and popadoms.. excellent food and excellent service. On Sundays and Thursdays it might be better to book, as the people of york in true Yorkshire fashion can see a good deal ! It is also BYO which of course makes the price right!

Food tasty but half full containers are unacceptable at these prices. Also all sauce and no onions or peppers as described in the menu. Also one complimentary poppadom on a 45 quid order? Disappointed. Been going here for a while now. Won't be back unless portions improve. 45 quid and half full containers is a joke. Sort it out guys. Feels like I'm paying for your fancy refurbishment.

Went over the weekend. I've been 3 times in the last 6 months.cant fault the food.very tasty .I just got the impression they wanted us out the restaurant as quickly as possible.my mate was swearing alot maybe it was that but have a word with us .clearing food away that wasn't finished and never got chance to have the chocolate at the end as they took them away.the restaurant wasn't overly busy so I didn't understand the rush .put me off abit now wanting to return

The food and ambience is here always top-notch. 1 of my most favourite go-to Indian restaurants in York as it is quite resonable in pricing as well. The quantity and quality of food is always satisfying.

Really enjoyable and looking forward to going back.
Perfect walking distance for those staying at the Novotel or Travelodge. Close to the city centre. Not too close that its overly busy, but not too far that you can't walk into the centre afterwards for cocktails. We went on a Monday night and there were plenty of tables.
Bring your own alcohol, no charge for glasses or bottle openers. They serve 0% beers and other soft drinks.
The onion bhajis (4 in a portion) are golf ball size but full of flavour and crispiness.
My partner loved the chilli chicken curry he had. He went for medium heat, but they were happy to increase the heat levels if wanted.
I had the mild version of the chicken tikka and it was absolutely delicious.
We had a mushroom rice and a garlic naan bread between us. Both of which were very tasty. The naan could have been cooked a little longer for me, but it didn't impact the flavour. The garlic flavouring on the naan was stronger than what we're used to from our local, but it actually tasted nicer for it.
The serving staff were quick to serve and clear away but not in an intrusive way. They were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and flavours.
It cost around £30 for the food, and we didn't buy drinks as we took our own. Good value for money, especially dining out in York.
Would recommend it for sure.

Quality food is served by helpful and polite staff. Five adults with different spice levels and every meal was spot on. One of our group is Celiac and we had no concerns . The staff were knowledgeable and made great menu suggestions.
