This is our third consecutive stay here as a family of campers and sadly, we may look elsewhere next year. Positives - camping pitches are generally great, with plenty of space. The play parks are well kept and safe for the kids. Staff are incredibly friendly and always willing to help wherever they can. Negatives - the cleanliness of the toilet/shower block has really gone downhill and I feel the whole block needs a face-lift. The showers in the ladies were barely a dribble of COLD water and I couldn't wash my hair. I resorted to the family suite to find the lock had broken so my little boy had to stand guard. The pot wash area is also always dirty and the water luke warm at best which meant semi-clean crockery all week. The system for booking the pools was also not great - you can now no longer go between indoor and outdoor pools, having to walk round and through the entertainment area - less than ideal. The outdoor pool requires no booking and if you've booked swimming with kids, they'll naturally want to try both.

We arrived at the caravan, and found we?d had a free complimentary upgrade! All I can say is, if this was an upgrade what would a bronze caravan be like? I dread to think!! We found a used cigarette end in what would be my 5 year old child?s bed!! In a non smoking caravan! We had what looks like punch marks in the bedroom doors! The caravan smelt of smoke, so we had to air it out! I cleaned it as it was thick with dust in places, we had a faulty loo that smelt foul! The toilet seat was grubby. The curtains were falling from the curtain pole, the clock on the wall had no batteries, the remote had one battery so couldn?t use tv in the bedroom! I could go on about the static caravan! The site was run down and grotty in places, we went to have a hot chocolate from the costa machine, but changed our minds when it looked like it hadn?t been cleaned in forever, with a grubby tissue stuck to it! There were beer bottles and litter in the crazy golf area! Grass was long and untidy in places. The restaurant on-site was so full, and the food was only luke warm! Not nice at all. We only went the once. The entertainment was t good for the children, it was very little in the way of staff entertaining them in the evenings, it was just music, one member of the seaside squad (which wasn?t interactive or personal for the children in anyway) and then a singer. Im not sure if things were any better in the other bar, but it was so busy my little boy with autism couldn?t cope with the bigger bar! It was sensory hell! Perhaps entertainment was better in there, who knows! We usually visit the independent holiday park, this was our first shrine in a haven, and it will be our last! The independent parks are worlds away all around. There was an issue with my brothers caravan that was dealt with quickly so we were pleased about that. I certainly won?t return and wouldn?t remember blue dolphin holiday park, Filey.

Just came home from a week camping at blue dolphin. As this was the most expensive site were ever stayed on I had high hopes. They were shattered the first time I used the toilets on site. Disgusting, they were only cleaned once a day! As you can imagine they were vile. Blocked sinks, no toilet paper and poo alog of poo. We've been camping for years and this was by far the dirtiest site. Bins over flowing everywhere even on the main site where all activities were. Don't even fet me started on the play area ? absolutely filthy. There was a sweet stuck to the carpet vovered in snail trail and that was there the whole week we were there!! The carpet was vile. The Costa machines were always empty and that sweet treats van was a joke! The girl who worked in the van was useless and they never had the stock in you wanted! Sweet naff all it should be called. The best thing about the holiday was the location and outdoor pool. Thr indoor pool was rubbish and constantly smelt of wee. Most of the staff are very young and don't care. We had a good holiday despite the filth but that's because the weather was good so we was out alot. Do yourself a favour and avoid until they've sorted out the filthy place.

It's a no from me. Large camping / touring site and felt over whelming busy at times. Our pitch was right next to the toilet block which on one hand was good to be near to for ease but very noisy on a night. The doors were left open (pointless giving out door codes on arrival) and you could hear the hand dryers all night. The toilet block and pot wash area was always dirty but not to do with the cleaners who actually were great, more to do with the other people staying on site who have no respect at all for the facilities.. I honestly felt sorry for the staff turning up in the morning to clean and I take my hat off to them for their dedication and hardwork. Its such a shame that Haven have not taken this feedback on board yet, it could easily be dealt with if there was more security patrol and checks on the facilities throughout the day and especially on a night. We used the indoor pool twice and it was OK but the cleaness of the changing area was poor. If your going to charge expensive rates for camping then you really need to up your game here and sort it out, as it stands its totally not worth the money from a camping perspective.

On arrival caravan was open and uncleaned ....sheets dirty ...shower mucky and the most uncomfortable beds..carpet wet and stained. We would have left but because we were with family decided to clean myself. pub on site ridiculously expensive..facilities swimming pool tired and a health hazard. Plus side clifftop walks nearby were fantastic and amazing sunsets..

From the Haven point of view this was a very enjoyable stay, the caravan (bronze) was a good distance from the main complex but was in a peaceful location (Spruce Ridge). Had our evening meal on arrival night in the Brigghouse, food arrived in good time, was plentiful, tasty and the staff where friendly. The mini market is very well stocked, some prices are interesting especially on staples such as bread and milk (wouldn't normally pay over £2 for a loaf of bread), ideal though as a stop gap until a proper shop off site could be done. One downside was the amusements, a fair number of machines crammed into the area but during the week we were there most of the token counting machines where out of action as where the change machines to get 2p's so sometime a bit of queuing going on to use the ones that did work. Off site the park is ideally located for Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough. Although we did drive into Scarborough a couple of times we found the best option was to park in the Filey road park and ride and take the bus which ran at frequent intervals during the day. From here we also visited the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington. The only downside and this is nothing at all to do with Haven was the weather, rained every day we were on holiday at some point, on the day before we left we were even treated to a torrential downpour that flooded the area immediately outside the caravan, the main car park, part of the complex and highlighted why we'd been parking in bay near on the road close to the caravan and not on the grass next to it.. Despite the weather at times it was a very enjoyable stay and would certainly return to Blue Dolphin though would maybe consider moving up a caravan grade.

We stayed in the 4 bed luxury lodge. Very spacious and clean in arrival. Only downside was no toilet roll at all on arrival which was annoying after a long journey. Also no vacuum cleaner so keeping the floor clean was difficult with 2 kids. Lucas the security guard was so funny and welcoming and and made our stay even better. A credit to your team. Even saw him helping as young kid out with his bike. A fabulous week as always. Filey is such a. Beautiful area especially the beach. Recommend it to anyone

Caravan park- caravans are all crammed together with not much space between them. This means that parking is limited and you can hear everything from your neighbours caravans. The actual park is really noisy at night as well. Lots of trucks and bin vehicles and loud goings on all night long. Amusements- arcade is good with a good range of different games. The bar and restaurants are pretty average. Didn't bother with the entertainment lounges so can't comment on them. Food- there is a burger king, fish and chip shop, papa John's, ice cream van and a doughnut/dessert place. Swimming- the pool is located in an unusual place. You have to walk all the way through the arcade to get to it. The indoor pool has a slide which the kids found lots of fun. We didn't do the outdoor pool. Just a note that you can't flit between indoor and outdoor you have to book one or the other. Caravan- 11 Oak Green. Curtains hanging off, shower doors didn't shut, windows and doors not air tight and black mould in the main bedroom. Our check in time was 4-5. Caravan wasn't ready till 5:30! The reception team didn't care whatsoever! Don't give a check in time of 4 if the Caravan isn't ready! Some people don't want to check in and 'go get a drink' they want to unload stuff out the car. Wouldn't return in a hurry.

We?ve been going to Haven for many years, after staying in a nearby campsite last year we saw there was this site so decided to book it as a treat for our next summer holiday, we are here now and genuinely gutted that we did. £517 for a pitch looking at the bins (bins haven?t been emptied either so you can imagine what it?s attracting), on a bend of a busy road with 3 small children (2 toddlers). The pitch was so boggy when we pitched up our tent it is covered in mud (inside and outside). We booked some activities for the children which were abysmal for the price.. ?roller disco? was some smelly and warm (literally just used) skates chucked at the children in a small sports hall with bikes and other activities taking up most of the space so they couldn?t exactly skate without bumping into apparatus. We booked ?bike coaching? where was our children were given bikes with flat tyres, not appropriately sized because ?it?s all we?ve got left because no one could be bothered to pump up the tyres before I started my shift? and the parents left in the same sports hall (only this time only a quarter open due to a huge bouncy castle taking up the rest of the room) to teach the children ourselves and charged £5 each for the privilege, it was disgusting, there was 1 ?coach? to 6 children (2 already left because of how bad it was) and the ?coach? just stood in the middle of the hall occasionally holding a bike yet giving zero instructions. The pool is what could be described as ?council run?, very standard pool with far too many people in, hardly any cubicles to change and stink of urine, the showers are poolside and everything is mixed sex. The prices are ridiculous, the mini market is scandalous. Staff aren?t the friendliest quite frankly and some plain rude. The cleanliness of the camping facilities (toilets, showers, pot washing areas) are disgusting, never experienced anything like it and we?ve been camping for years in a range of priced sites, this is the worst and the ironically the most expensive. The entertainment isn?t the best; long drawn out games despite being advertised as a ?tots disco?, it would be better if it was just that, a chance for the tots to dance before the big kids get their show, but you can see the staff trying and they engage with the children at least. Really disappointed in Haven. We wouldn?t camp with Haven at all after this experience. It?s a summer holiday ruined for us I?m afraid and we?re counting down the days to go unfortunately.

Sadly the cost of living increases really apply here. The mini market prices are completely unbelievable, the restaurant and Burger King prices are shocking. The park itself was OK, very dated in areas and play area was dangerous due to broken/missing parts. My family and I ventured out to local areas, visit a local supermarket and stock up as the prices on site are unaffordable. The swimming pool was nice, my children had lots of fun, the slides were great. The park is huge and we were located away from the busy areas which was perfect. We returned to Blue Dolphin after visiting years ago but sadly we wouldn't like to return, we travelled a long was to get there to be disappointed when we arrived.

Cannot fault our stay at all! To start with it was just an incredibly cheap price £11 for one night and that was 3 of us in a large tent including entertainment passes- most places charge more for swimming alone- really couldn?t believe it. As we were only coming for 1 night we went basic as didn?t need electric hook up so we were a bit further away in the basic pitches section but still only a few mins walk away from the toilet and shower block (and I?m a slow walker). The ground was flat and dry and well maintained had clearly just been mowed. We were really anxious about the toilets and shower block after reading some recent reviews but honestly they were great. Really clean and accessible. We went swimming and the pool was fine nothing spectacular and quite shallow at deepest end but my step daughter had fun and loved the slide, will be nice to come back in summer when the outdoor pool is open too. The only improvement would be if the families camping were separated from adults only as the tent next to us weren?t even that loud but as 1 am they were still up drinking with music playing and talking and that?s not ideal when travelling with young ones. The check in staff were extremely friendly and helpful and in general it was a great stay wish we could have stayed longer.

AWFUL, the worst facilities ever The field is 10 MINUTES WALK away from shop/entertainment, expensive eateries . Bit of a ... when like me you have mobility problems. Had to drive to even go to the shop DIDN'T mention a sloped boggy site where our motorhome got stuck in the mud NOT dog friendly, what a lie. Dogs are allowed OUTSIDE only and on 4 tables in a bar . SHOWERS Screamingly COLD and shower block dirty and (one for whole camping field of hundreds of people) DISABILITY UNFRIENDLY please don't go if you have any disability, this is not the site for you. The staff are actually really doing their best which is remarkable as there are so many disgruntled guests There are simply TOO MANY PEOPLE for the site as it is . Never paid so much for such a .... campsite

Blue Dolphin, Filey ? April 2023 REVIEW: Depends on what you?re looking for. We knew it was more ?for the kids? (2 x pre-teen girls), so this was perfect for keeping them entertained, whatever the weather, during the Easter break. CARAVAN: Warm, dry, clean and comfortable. (Could have done with having a vacuum, for the carpet, rather than a brush and pan, as we like to keep it clean while we?re there). FAMILY ACTIVITIES: We booked them into swimming, Aqua inflatables, Go-kart riding, which is peddle power, allowing them to tour the site. (This option allows single or double riders.) We also booked them in for shooting, which was different and a first for them both. (Full safety measures are in place). To name but a few other activities, there?s also a roller disco, climbing wall and lots more. (Check out the website. Pre-booking is advised). Adults also had a game of Bingo on the evening (under 18s not allowed, as it?s classed as gambling) ? although I think there?s a child-friendly game later, which doesn?t really make sense? Especially when there's an army of one arm bandits, slot machines, and Claw machines (which have your eyes out, pardon the pun) - but be aware that they're rigged to take so much profit before dishing out a random prize every once in a while, so that one pound teddy might cost you £30+ (but aren't the little darlings worth it ;) RELAXATION: Just getting away from home is relaxing, so we did manage to unwind. Great weather is never guaranteed but in April we had a mix of bright spells with showers but, as they say, there?s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. So, England, being England ? take layers ? and do whatever?s good for your soul! LOCAL WALKS: Cliff top walks looked very picturesque (we didn?t dare get too close, and as we had dogs, we preferred beach trips). Cayton Bay is a nice walk away (although we went in the car). A great beach with lots of water activities, and a surf shack heading down to the beach ? and when I say ?down? to the beach, it?s certainly that (it?s not one for those who can?t manage steep hills). We were told to be aware of the rip tide, so keep this in mind. We were told that Filey beach is also accessible by foot, albeit a bit longer to get to than that of Cayton Bay. An option is to walk there and catch the bus back. CLEANLINESS: With the site being on a cliff top, their greatest battle seems to be with the wind and scavenging birds. Unfortunately, we saw a lot of plastic bags blowing from the site into the cliff fence, then into the sea. A lot of the bags were from laundry which guests are asked to put into the bag upon leaving. I recommend a solution to this (such as wooden holders outside of caravans/lodges, with some sort of clip to keep the bag from blowing away.) Witnessed a lot of seagulls, etc., flying down to pull apart bin bags of rubbish from vans too. ENVIRONMENT: I'd love to see some kind of reward system in place for collecting and handing in litter - make it fun? Filey beach had a huge metal sealion as a rubbish bin, something like this or hand in somewhere on site for prize tickets? DAY TRIPS: Scarborough and Bridlington are about 20-30 minutes? drive away, if you?re wanting to explore, take advantage of more seaside air (and divulge in fish and chips, as I think it?s some kind of unwritten law that you must eat fish and chips at the seaside!) DOG FRIENDLY: We took our 2 small dogs. There?s a small fenced off area if you?d like to let them off, but there is a lot of large grassy areas, beach, and walks to keep you and your furry friends happy. EATING OUT: Very happy with the selection at Blue Dolphin: Pappa John?s food was delicious. There?s also a Fish & Chip shop, outdoor vending with hot drinks and snacks, and a bar or two. SHOP: Onsite shop sells a great selection of food, drink and necessities. Plus a nice range of toys and gifts.
