We had a very difficult stay here as the pub stayed open until 2am with loud music until 1am so we could not sleep. We tried to resolve it twice with the landlord who put the phone down on us.

Seems popular with locals. Friendly staff, nice woodburning stove. They really do have a gluten-free menu rather just talking about it. I had gluten-free halloumi and it was nice.
I'd say this a typical boozer - pool table, sport tv etc. Down to earth, unpretentious. Seems good value. I don't really do pubs but if they make an effort with menus etc it's good to support them.

After a lovely walk with my dog Amelia Lilly
We popped into the lovely pub for lunch. It was my dogs 10th birthday today! So the chefs made Amelia Lilly sausage. I had scampi and chips, really delicious. Thanks to the fabulous staff for making Amelia and myself welcome..

Located right in the centre of High Bentham, this is a good pub to stop for a drink.
The lady behind the bar was really lovely and friendly.
Had to pay over £5 to pay on card which wasn't a problem for us, just something to note.
We played pool here one night which was fun. The table is small and the cues weren't the best but we didn't mind for 50p a game!
We ate lunch here one day and it was ok. I got the small plate scampi and fries. I think I got about 7 pieces of scampi but an absolute mountain of chips. It would have been nicer to have more scampi and less chips. My boyfriend got the tuna baguette which he enjoyed. That came with a few chunky chips which wasn't stated on the menu, but a nice surprise I guess.
All in all, not a bad little boozer.
Oh and the Guinness was spot on! ??

Located in the centre of High Bentham offering Accommodation, Food and Quality Beers.
Had the pleasure of dining for a traditional Sunday lunch. Choice of 3 roasts. We choose the lamb and the beef. Meat was cooked to perfection and plenty of it, opted to take the Cauliflower cheese as an extra which was well worth it. Homemade Yorkshire Pudding, pure quality throughout.
Highly recommended.
Food and drinks: Good selection of draft beers worth accommodating staff.

Arrived at 10pm on a Monday night whilst doing the 1000 mile Bristol-Glasgow-Bristol audax bike ride and running low on food. They weren't serving food but the landlord made me a huge cheese sandwich from his own kitchen and I ate this watching the Euro game chatting with the very friendly locals. Just what a great pub should be - fed, watered and entertained me! I was the only person to finish the ride this year and I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't been so well looked after here.

Wouldn?t even give it 1 star if I could as we went in as a family for a meal and what I think was a woman with short hair behind the bar completely blanked me purposely with a face like thunder so again I politely said hello and again ignored me so third time then looked at me angrily and said HI and then turned away and ignored me very rude staff and not welcoming was only trying to ask about a table so we walked out wouldn?t recommend at all. Better staff needed with some people skills.

Four of us were staying in the area, called into the bar for Sunday lunch (13/08/23) wasn't disappointed. Food was lovely, good value, staff friendly. Will definitely return next time we're up that way. Dog friendly also.
