Popped in for dinner on the way home from Light Water Valley with husband and daughter in tow. Best burger I've ever had. Child portion huge and husband thoroughly enjoyed his pie.
Barmaid could not have been more helpful or pleasant (sorry I didn't get her name). Only wish it was closer to home, would be a regular visit.

Reasonable pub, great service. Accomodation is out the back in the car park. Large and spacious. Breakfast decent evening meals good.lady who runs the bar in evening very attentive

I would best describe our room as a budget motel room. It would have rated well at a third of the price. It certainly didn't live up to the photos on the website or the high price. For what we paid it's reasonable to expect higher standards and better quality.

went last night , no beer as flash chiller broken .OK stuff happens . Staff most apologetic and really pleasant/helpful .We decided to stay for a bite to eat having the curry special . Can honestly say it was the worst curry we have ever had - the chips( half and half ) were the only decent thing .It has either just been taken over or is struggling kind of feel about the place.Ordered a korma and a tikka massala which were identical in a bowl of pink soup !

Fantastic pub. Staff were really friendly, great choice of beers including cask ales much to my husbands delight. The food was really tasty and well priced. I had the Wensleydale chicken, i would strongly recommend it. We will definitely be back.

Very disappointing meal, I had prawns with chilli the butter was black and obviously burned no taste at all and a sad side salad. My husband had scampie which was better but the chips were frozen not home made as stated. Lady behind the bar was very friendly and chatty. We will not be back for food.

Had a delicious lunch at the Woodman Inn today. The prawn cocktail was the best I have had in a long time. The beef roast had thick slices of tender meat, a large homemade yorkshire pudding, plenty of vegetables and extra meaty gravy.
The staff are lovely too. I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

We walked from our campsite to get to the pub. Food was disappointing? I had the garlic mushroom top with cheese..it was more like a soup when it came. The pastry on the steak pie was far too thick...all the seasonal veg was overdone. We certainly won't go back...food and service was very poor

We stayed at the The Woodman Inn Burneston, Bedale DL8 2HX last night with our little campervan. The park up was fab, electric hook up and water. If you eat at the pub you got money off the stay. Food was great, the host was lovely and the toilets were available during put opening hours.

Best steak and ale pie I've ever had! Will definitely come again when we are passing through. Not far off the A1 and so much better than a soulless services. Plenty of parking and a lovely homely feel with cosy firesides, friendly staff and amazing food.
