We were on holiday locally and chanced upon this gem of a pub. Cheryl and Dave who run it are really passionate about what they do and it shows. The food and beer was excellent. Good sized portions and delicious. The pies are among the best I've tasted and the mac and cheese balls are sublime. The atmosphere is very friendly and Lenny the pub dog welcomes everyone. It was so good we had to go back before we left for home. In these days when so many pubs are closing you guys are giving people exactly what they want: good beer, great food and a welcoming friendly environment at affordable prices. Congratulations!

Lovely Sunday Lunch - food excellent cooked to order and friendly service. Good atmosphere and also very dog friendly. Would highly recommend the Black Horse to anyone visiting the area and would return. Garden also lovely but just too hot to sit out when we visited.

Always made to feel super welcome at The Black Horse, the owners are always there and really care about your experience
The food is always served piping hot and is consistently good!
Even when you sit out in the garden bless them it?s miles away but they still always come out and check on you - fetching you what you need and genuinely make you feel like they can?t do enough to help you.
The owners are making a lot of effort to create a lovely village pub and they are doing just that - well worth a visit - the garden out the back is always tidy and inviting.

Best Sunday lunch we've had in ages. Plus plenty of choice for non Sunday lunchers. Very inviting and hospitable. Dog friendly. Recommend 1million per cent!

Great hosts and food

This is a lovely country pub. Service excellent in the restaurant and bar. Wide choice of mains and starters. So good on the Saturday night, went back for Sunday lunch. Saturday was Moroccan Tagine and trad Sunday lunch the next day. Nice beer garden and Alpacas over the fence at the back. Very good at special requests, everyone was really nice.

Stopped in today and the Food was amazing we had the Porkloin with Truffle mash and a cider gravy and the Steak and ale pie and chips and both were some of the best food we?ve had in ages.
