I don't often write reviews but I had to for this place, we visited at lunch time as a family of 6, we was lucky to get a table within 5 mins of waiting and I'm so pleased that we did, the food was spectacular for a little cafe, the cakes were amazing and the staff were lovely and couldn't help us enough and even the prices were very reasonable, by far the cafe we visited all week!
It also helped take my mind of the fact that I lost my wedding ring outside the waterfalls toilet! :(

Wonderful tea room with great drinks, food and ice creams. At the foot of the falls it?s in a lovely location. We had to wait around 20 mins to be seated, it?s popular and not that big so had to wait for space to be free. Service was great. The afternoon tea was lovely a nice sandwich, toastie, and great selection of cakes and scones.

Fantastic little teashop, with friendly staff and great food.
Lots of different cakes to choose from and delicious sandwiches made to order. We had takeaway away, but you can sit in as well.
Don't bother packing a lunch to take with you - Get it here!

We had take away sandwiches and cakes. The sandwiches were made fresh while we waited and everything was really tasty and extremely good value.

Absolutely a lovely hidden gem ? ??
Over looking the river. Home made food, cakes, cookies, conserves and snacks etc. Had hot chocolate, coffees and cakes. Very nice indeed ?
I purchased some chocolate chip cookies to take home which oh my day!...they are like the old fashioned oven tasting cooked cookies not the cheap ones you get these day. I will definitely return next time and probably purchase the whole place from stock ? ?

It's worth a visit to Ayesgarth just to go to the Mill Race Cafe. Lovely lunches and super indulgent baking is the order of the day. Really friendly, helpful service too. Considering some mail order treats after our most recent visit.

This is a great little tea room that you might easily miss as you walk past on the way to Aysgarth Falls. Small , cosy with lovely, friendly staff. Had the best toasted sandwiches we have ever had. My wife had the Wensleydale Cheese version and I had the Roast Beef and Blue Cheese. Each served with a lovely salad accompaniment. Both absolutely delicious. Cups of tea also lovely and we bought 2 cakes to take away which we enjoyed when we got back to our holiday accommodation. Such a shame this place is almost 200 miles from home or we would certainly be regular customers. Try it and I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

Stopped here for an ice cream, but what a lovely place to get a tea and some great looking cakes. The ice creams we had were very flavoursome and generous scoops. Very friendly staff. Next time I will aim for tea and cakes, or perhaps just more lovely ice cream.

I ordered a grazing table and cake for a hen do and they were amazing, everyone commented on how nice both were.
The whole process from booking was so easy and millrace were really responsive and helpful especially considering we had lots of allergies which they catered around.
