We came here for a family lunch this weekend and had a really lovely meal. We were a big group of 15 and they accommodated us brilliantly, especially as we had 2 elderly family members and a baby. The staff were very friendly and service was super efficient. The majority of us went for the carvery which was delicious, and the staff member serving was brilliant. Only complaint would be that the upper room was very hot.

For a village, it's a surprisingly busy pub. Has a good selection of ale and normal beers. Even 2 ciders on tap. Bar was never empty for long. Food was good. Lots of choices, loaded fries good value. Even had WiFi

went for a dinner a few nights ago was excellent service as always we did have an issue with one of the meals and it was delt with in a prompt and courteous manner exactly what was needed staff are excellent! the dished we had where lovely and well priced very friendly environment

Absolutely appalled with the service. Table booked for 12. Could not get the drinks order right. Then food was burnt, starters and mains came out at the same time. raised complaints to waitresses no one came to apologise would never recommend. Mould in the area where eating.
Also No toilet seats either.

Dropped in for a coffee as most cafes in town were shut. Possibly the worst coffee I've had in a long time, very bitter! Will nit be going back.

Have visited this pub, and it's sister pub the once legendary Green Dragon many times and, as regular vistors will know, there is very little open on Mondays in this historic town.
The staff are exemplary but the management have failed to create any atmosphere comaparable to the days of Justin Harvey and his 'family'. Such a shame.

Passed by on a Sunday and smelt the carvery which enticed us in. Greeted by friendly staff and an adorable dog, the carvery was brilliant as were the deserts. Have booked a table for a couple weeks time. Would definitely recommend.
