Great location, however it?s a conveyor belt type of food venue as I cannot call this a restaurant. Very young and polite staff at the entrance, they deserve 5 stars, otherwise the food was too oily, fried too much, lots of chips that tasted bland, for ketchup you have to pay extra (£0.80 per sachet!!! And they?re the same McDonald?s offers for free) which we found ridiculous considering the amount of money we spent for 4 people meal. Dirty tables - we had to clean ourselves. Won?t return there.

Oh dear, how far the humble seaside fish and chips has fallen. Touch-screen ordering like a motorway service station; £15 for a standard meal (and a tiny portion of plaice); batter which tasted like the oil hadn?t been changed in weeks; and to top it all off, no sauces included, which added £8 to the cost of our four-person meal and all those single-use sachets to landfill - not very eco-minded!
I appreciate that this is north Norfolk and I wouldn?t have minded the £70 bill (plus drinks, I might add) if the food and experience was nice. Save your money and go to one of the many nice local pubs instead of this glorified takeaway/canteen hybrid.

its clear that the UK is going through a bit of a crisis. Nicely located chip shop, yes foods pricey, what isn't these days. staff friendly enough. Food is ok. batter slightly OTT and had to go mining to find the fish. Chips, are just chips. Thew ordering system made it feel a little more than a factory serving food.
would we go back? possibly not but child was hungry.
staff friendly, but the place felt like a little a bit dirty and tired.
Only being honest and mean no offence.

We went in because it looked the part but that?s all that was good
So over priced it?s unbelievable
fish was all batter and sausage was just cheap meat
spent nearly £50 for me and my gf we both ended up binning it crap chips and hardly any fish in the soggy batter
The sausage was for our dog which I decided not to give him as it didn?t look good

Found to be very expensive, small sized fish that didn?t match the price. Cold (old) chips. Just wasn?t good. Sorry, one stop only.

Prime harbour side location so lovely views across the harbour. Touch screen ordering system similar to fast food chains which I
guess speeds everything up but makes it a lot less personal. The whole experience was less than 40 mins. Very reasonable prices for the location so I guess that's the trade off. Dog friendly and returned for breakfast

Food was Tasty & Service was outstanding. Prices are verging on daylight robbery. £2.25 for a 7up can. £2.25 for a bread roll. Over £2 for a bottle of water. No need for them to make £2 profit on a 20p roll. £15 for fish and chips is once again ripping people off for the location.

Day trip to Wells next the sea. Stopped for some fish and chips at Plattens. Nicely cooked and quick service.

Not great value for money unfortunately. £15 for a quite frankly disappointing piece of cod and a few chips is daylight robbery - even for wells. Scampi wasn?t great and tasted bought in.
The fish and chips did taste nice however but I couldn?t get over the portion size for the money. Kids portions at airport prices.
Didn?t really love the screens to order but I get why they have installed them.
Overall I just felt robbed - it cost more money for the three of us than it would have if we sat down and ate a a proper restaurant.

We have been visiting Plattens two to three times each year for a number of years now and were really looking forward to our meal today, unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. It seems as though as the restaurant has expanded, the portions have been reduced. My wife always has a light bite cod and chips which is more than enough for her, however today she thought she had been inadvertently served plaice instead of cod as we have seen thicker pieces of ham. It looked as though the fillet had been sliced along its length and then sliced again. There was virtually no fish inside the batter. She did speak to the staff who said it was a common complaint. I don?t think we shall be visiting again, it simply isn?t worth the money.
