Reviews seem wonderful. I wonder? Went for lunch with my partner in second week of September. Ordered lunch and drinks. Food arrived but my partner's choice was substituted by a meat dish and she does not eat meat. Profound apologies, mistake owned by Staff member. Now, I have my food, going cold. Partner's original order...

We booked for Saturday evening, realised we may be later and they were able to move the booking the same day. Our friends brought dogs and there is a cosy table on its own for dog owners. The food was really nice and portions were a good size. The team who looked after us were friendly too. Couldn't fault it!

Absolutely great old pub probably a bit tricky to find if you don't know the area but the food is absolutely fantastic. We just called in on a Sunday afternoon,the staff were really friendly and very efficient. If you like a good pie then this is definitely the place to go. I had a stuffed chicken breast with new potatoes...

The Chequers Inn is a historic countryside pub tucked away in the picturesque village of Thompson, in the heart of rural Breckland, between Watton & Thetford. It has a bar, two dining areas, three bedrooms and a large garden at the rear with picnic tables and children’s play equipment. Dogs are welcome in the garden and bar.
The family run pub is owned by Richard McDowall who has worked as Head Chef since 1998.
