Very mid food

Got a pizza from the little place on the side.
£14 for a meat feast. Large pieces of meat dumped on top, instead of cut up small. Very little cheese. Good base but the whole thing was relatively flavourless. Disappointed.
Fancied some chips on the side bit that would have to be for from inside the restaurant, and there was a 30 minute wait (for chips!)

I was very disappointed with the inconsistent customer service at the Forge and Terrace during my stay at Kelling Heath. On our first visit, the staff were excellent?friendly, accommodating, and helpful when I inquired about the menu due to my son's dairy allergy. We were reassured that the pasta with garlic bread was a safe option for him, and we had a great dining experience.
However, on our second visit, the experience was completely different. When ordering the same pasta dish for my son, I mentioned his allergy again. When our food arrived, I simply asked if garlic bread would be included, as it had been on our previous visit. The waiter abruptly snapped, ?Well, it?s dairy-free, so no, there won?t be.? I politely explained that we had been told it was safe just two nights ago, which was the only reason I asked. The waiter then rudely responded that if my son had been served garlic bread previously, he shouldn?t have been. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, he became argumentative, which was completely unnecessary.
While our first visit was excellent, this inconsistent service left a bad impression. It?s disappointing to receive such a stark contrast in treatment, especially when dealing with food allergies, which require clear and considerate communication.

Lovely staff and good food for a holiday park place. Ate here twice - one of which they put up with 10 of us for Sunday lunch excellently - no issues and quick.

Popped in for a nibble & a drink after a walk through the woods, went to the Brackens for pizza....worst I've had in my life. Super dry & laughably arranged topping. Avoid.

* update 4th April* I have updated my marks for service, after contacting guest services, they were very helpful and apologised for the poor service.
The staff serving are attentive and helpful. But this review is for the Pizza takeaway.
Having ordered at 6.04pm (yes, I am that into detail) they took our money, gave us a buzzer so we would know when to collect. We were told 15 mins and the food would be ready.
30 mins later, my wife went into check our order, was told our buzzer was working fine and they were very busy, so please bear with us....
After 55 minutes. I went in to ask what is going on. To be told that between the front till taking our money, handing us the buzzer. The order was not received by the kitchen. I get computer glitches. But this was pretty poor. Having got two pretty hangry kids being told food is not even arriving, it really did get my goat.
We got a refund and we ordered from one of the exceptionally good food vendors in the square.
My recommendation - support the food vendors, the food is excellent and its ready when they say it is!

Excellent meal on Tuesday evening. The waiting staff (Lyndsey and Kayleigh) were so attentive and professional and the meal was delicious. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Our first time there and we will certainly be back.

We visited as a family and had a huge issue which I?m not going into now. I?m only reviewing to say how excellent the restaurant manager, Tony, was. He could not have been better. The waiting staff were really good too, but Tony went above and beyond

They try hard here, and we holiday @ KH twice per year. We love the place, and always keep the last night as our "eating out" night. We had the smoked mackeral + couscous salad + grilled fish and chips peas etc (gluten free). The place is a little "tired" now, but the food was ok. There are limited options if you like variety, but lets be honest, this is a family place not TDH.... :-) Please add morte "non chip" options and more grilled options perhaps ? Thanks

Absolutely fabulous Sunday roast. Great portions (adults and children) with huge fresh yorkshires, proper roasties, fresh perfectly cooked veg and meat. Great service. Really pleased.

Very obstructive staff 'have you booked?' Lots of shuffling of paperwork, finally got an immediate table. During our time at table hardly anyone came in, lots if empty tables! Seems staff are only employed for bookings to minimise hours/ pay. We remember this being very accomodating and friendly. No more sadly.

To be honest, I?d set an expectation so I wouldn?t be disappointed, and not surprisingly I was right. To summarise, Staff were very friendly and helpful. That was a plus. Menu, limited and basic, with in my view limited choice. Food was average at best and definitely overpriced for quality, but I guess that?s because they have a captive audience. With the potential of that ?captive audience?, they could really up their game in terms of choice and quality. I appreciate we all have differing views in what?s good, but for me it?s not a place I?d be enthusiastic about returning to - shame?
