Great pub. Really getting it spot on. Relaxed, comfy, delicious food, friendly. Can?t think of anything less than excellent to say about it. Just what you hope for in a village pub.

We stayed here as a couple plus dog over a Friday and Saturday night in August. We booked the Stables, which was a split level room with downstairs lounge and upstairs bedroom and bathroom. It was an excellent experience all round - room was spacious and comfortable and particularly liked the in-room slipper bath. There was a great cooked breakfast with plenty of different options and dinner was very good too, although maybe the choice of mains could be a bit more adventurous. Setting is in a very pleasant and quiet village, Ringstead, which includes an Aladdins Cave like village shop, and has lots of huge beaches and pleasant towns and villages within easy reach. We really enjoyed our time at Gin Trap Inn and will return next time we are in the area. Highly recommended.

Came here to have a drink and let the children use the playground... but it was gone! Such a shame. Was a great pub to take the kids to and relax with a pint and some food now it just feels like all the rest of the North Norfolk pubs.

Went for a meal with friends as had previously enjoyed a meal a few years ago.
What a disappointment is an understatement . It has turned into an overpriced restaurant. I ordered a steak medium rare. Came out mainly grey with a slight amount of pink and was very chewy. Not happy at all as was told what a good chef they had. Sorry but he doesn?t understand how to cook steak

Lovely, olde worlde pub with pleasant, helpful staff and a lovely outdoor seating area
Prices are a little higher than elsewhere in the area but for the ambience and friendliness of the place it is worth paying that but extra.
Well worth a visit.

The Gin Trap has changed hands in recent times and do we decided to pop in.
We only had a drink on this occasion and sat in the bar area. Service was good.
The bar area (whilst quite traditional) is rather dark and the newer conservatory area much lighter and brighter.
We took a look at the menu for future visits. Good Menu. Decent prices.

Had a great few days staying here, food was incredible, rooms were brilliant and the staff were very attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. Special mention to Will behind the bar, Craig and Georgia, would definitely come back!

Very slow bar service. Food came promptly. Varied menu. Lovely outdoor dining options.

We?ve visited the Gin Trap on numerous occasions and dropped in on them again on our tour of Norfolk on our bikes. The changes made by the Chestnut group have been positive. Food was never served on Mondays and Tuesdays and it now is. The staff are excellent and hugely helpful. A great menu and you won?t beat the breakfast, black pudding to die for. Whilst these guys keep doing what they?re doing, they?ll continue to have us as customers. All the place needs to be perfect for the cyclist is a specific safe storage area. TBF they do try and help with this but now and again when they?ve a few cyclists in the space can be lacking a little. Still great though, 9.5/10

What a missed opportunity. Fantastic building, but a poor service from the first interaction to our last. No real welcome as the bar staff as he was making coffee. When we was seated we had to wait 45 minutes for our order to be taken, only to be disappointed by the food being delivered. The pork was stunning with a great peace of crackling, but the roast potatoes were reheated and not very warm, as for the Yorkshire pudding being delivered separately in a cold cast iron bowl served on a table spoon of cold lumpy potato ?.. I really don?t understand as the Yorkshire pudding was lovely. The tea spoon of an orange and beige paste did nothing for the dish. Everything on the plate was unfortunately lukewarm. We could have mentioned it to the server but we had little to no interaction with any of the servers. We did ask to see the dessert menu for it not to appear so we decided to leave. This was a real shame as it could have been so much better with very little effort.
We hate to complain at the table as other guests was around and didn?t want to make a scene and we wasn?t looking for a discount but it really wasn?t worth the £75.00.
