Had a Christmas meal at the Stables with friends in a private room. No complaints about the service. The food was fine albeit a very small portion size for my main course (halibut). The main problem was the cold temperature in the room we had. Despite it being December all three radiators in the room were off. There was a log fire at one end of the long room but this was of no use to those sat at the opposite end of the table. Some of us kept our coats and jackets on. Disappointed.

Great condition course worth playing. Nice short game area. We visited the place on a Sunday afternoon. We had a lunch + Green fees which is just not worth it since you only get 15£ credit for lunch while almost all courses available are below and are just sandwiches type meals. Drinks are not included.

Sorry for the two stars but they go to the food and not the very poor serviceThis is the second time for us at the stables and we went again because of the food being lovelyThe first time we went we waited over an hour after asking if we could order dessert and having to ask again!!Today we went again was initially served straight away waited over 5 mins while our dinner sat under the hot lamp before being delivered and once again no offer for a dessert or another drinkVery very poor service ??

Tough course, parkland setting, plays very long in cool or windy conditions (we had both). Unless you are 290 plus off the tee forget playing off gold tees. Wide fairways but with excellent bunker placement make it a fair challenge. Huge greens all in great condition. Can REALLY be tricked up with some tough pins placements. Well worth a visit.
