Shown to table quickly, drinks arrived quickly, but waited quite a while for the food. First choice of husband's main and dessert were unavailable but food was tasty. Christina, our waitress, was very pleasant and attentive.

We visited the Swan Inn this evening. Having read some of the recent reviews I was a little dubious but it was chosen by another member of our party so we thought we would give it a go.
I'm pleased to say we found the staff who served us to be polite, friendly and efficient throughout.
However we were slightly baffled by how long it took our food to arrive given how empty the pub seemed (about 40 mins from ordering) so I can understand how at busy times the wait must be huge. Overall most people in our party were impressed with their food. Unfortunately my fish was very overcooked leaving some of the batter inedible. We also felt that the children's menu was rather expensive for what it was - £8.50 for half a margherita pizza and a glass of squash - my 4 year old was complaining how hungry he was the whole way home!
With the wait for food being so long, we decided not to have pudding as all the children were tired so can't comment on that.
This place is in such a lovely setting, so I really hope they manage to up their game on the kitchen side of things as this seems to be where the problems lie!

We visited quite early for a drink stop whilst enjoying the river. I liked the river front seating but it was really weird to be sat outside, without any enclosure and to not be able to have a smoke with my pint. There is I understand a designated smoking area but that all seems a little odd. Otherwise, nice little pub on the corner and we were able to park.

Sat outside for our meal which was lovely but they need to take more care of their outside space. Lots of rubbish and discarded straws. Grass needs a cut too. It makes it look shabby.

What a difference to the last time we visited. I used to frequent this place about 10 years ago. Oh my, it's gone downhill.. service atrocious and very distressed staff behind the bar not coping very well with problems when they arise.. the food was long awaited and rather sub standard.. Luke warm and undercooked.. doubt we'll return as such a shame, given the location

Pretty bad. Hunters chicken was slimy with a teaspoon amount if cheese and bbq sauce. Service not great, food delivered and lady walked off so fast we diddnt have time to say we had no cutlery, had to hunt around for some ourselves. No-one came and asked how the food was or cleared the table after.

Asked at the bar for a menu and was very rudely told that they weren't taking any more orders for food, and that although there was no reserved sign on the table, it probably was so we'd have to leave. It was very busy so probably not enough staff working, but no need for her to be so rude and unwelcoming. We moved on and got a much nicer welcome elsewhere.

Starters were great
Main meal luke warm after a long wait (over an hour) despite restaurant only being half full
Bar service only so had wait in a queue to order anything
Glasses not clean when served
Maybe not great in the middle of summer.

Very disappointing visit to the Swann Inn.
Perfect location and lovely looking pub however service is very poor - we booked in advance for a birthday celebration look lunch. We arrived and were warned food wait was 45 minutes+ which we had to accept even though disappointing when pre booking a table this shouldn?t be norm.
During our 1 hour wait for our food (which when arrived was lovely) not once did we see a member of staff to offer drinks/ give an update on our food wait.
When paying an average of £20 for a meal this is unacceptable service.
