Second Sunday roast, not the last. Excellent!
February 2024 by Ash Grey (Eating_Out_Norwich)
We had a gorgeous Sunday roast trying the pork and chicken - excellent food, amazing service, very, very loud.Food - The food was excellent, I've had a great many roasts in my time and this was one of the best, as you can see in the video the pork pulled apart with a fork and it was so juicy, the chicken came as a supreme and was very generous, the only thing worth mentioning as a negative is there was such a variety of veg that the portions of each felt mean (that's subjective and barely worth mentioning)Service - Fantastic all the way, ordering is split between food and drinks, food is ordered at the table and drinks are ordered at the bar. The server took our order really quick and the food came out very fast. They were attentive but not intrusive, A+. Drink service was swift and professional, we had soft drinks and after I had ordered they were brought straight to the table, again, this was swift. A service charge is added to the bill.Atmosphere - The bar itself is aesthetically pleasing with a reclaimed, hipsterish vibe. It's a massive open space with the bar in the centre and this is where the issues begin. It's loud, aggressively loud, I couldn't hear my partner or the staff at all and given the complete lack of soft furnishings every sound echoes around and around. As someone with sensory issues I struggled. The seating and tables are mismatched which is cute but I barely managed to get my legs under the table as the seats were too tall, the tables are also packed in close and I spent half my meal with my back touching the person behind me. There is a soft seating area at the back of the bar which I didn't see until I had already eaten, it's a much quieter and more comfortable area and I really wish I had seen it earlier. To be clear it's pretty and if you're into the whole community eating, cacophony thing, it's a good atmosphere.Accessibility - Poor, it's very tight, you won't get a wheelchair through it, it's loud so bad for people with sensory issues, there's no parking lot so you take your chances on the very tight streets outside and you'll struggle to order drinks as there are tables surrounding the bar.Parking: Very tight and limited.Kid-friendliness: Children were eating there but it's very loud which was upsetting the one closest to us the noise carrying may put some parents off.Wheelchair accessibility: It isn't readily wheelchair accessible.

Finally get a booking at this NR3 gem. The pork belly sunday roast warls impeccable. Lovely scratching and plentiful portion. The atmosphere was lovely. We booked at 3. Sadly, we had to leave by 5, right to enjoy a lovely sunset

Having read a previous review, after I had already booked our rooms I was a little worried, but I really needn't have been. The stairs in to the B&B were clean and pleasant. No noise this morning. Room was spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was lovely for a continental and all fresh in the fridge. Nespresso pod machine meant pretty good coffee too. Food and ales and wines in the pub are really very good and staff were super friendly and helpful.

We arrived for a 12pm booking 5 minutes early for Sunday lunch. (We were only given a 1hr 30 minute time slot so made sure we arrived in time). We entered the pub only to be shouted at from behind the bar that we have to go and stand back outside (it was 2 degrees) and wait 5 minutes. We wouldn?t have minded soo much but there was already a table of 5 sat inside with menus. At 12pm we were told we were allowed back in and we said we had a booking for four at 12pm. The women just retorted back ? everyone eating today here has booking?. There were four of us. We were seated on a table for 3 by the main entrance. A fourth chair was squeezed into a trolley with the smallest of us squeezing in it. It was freezing as the door then was constantly opened as the first sitting all came in. We wouldn?t have minded soo much but there were still lots of tables that fitted four people away from the door still empty at 1pm. Drinks were swiftly ordered and food was served by 12.15pm. The food itself was ok but only warm but the not so roasted potatoes were nuclear hot. The waiting staff were really good. We?d finished our meals by 1pm. We were then told by a lovely guy who had clearly been sent over to tell us we only had 30 minutes before we had to leave. The bill was then bought to us without us asking for it. We couldn?t leave until 1.30pm as we had a taxi booked but couldn?t wait to get in it to get warm. So if anyone is thinking of coming here for a relaxing, welcoming Sunday lunch experience I?d suggest you book for the last sitting and ask to be away from the door.

Loaded chips were unedible due to having far to much salt. Told they were new on the menu so they really should of been checked before being sent out. Cost of dish was removed from bill. A previous visit the cheese on the normally fantastic chicken burger wasn't melted. The last roast I had wasn't great either, poor Yorkshires and overcooked beef. I'm pretty sure the head chef that started blues NR3 venture wouldn't of sent these dishes out. Not the usual high standard the blues team is renowned for. Possibly spread themselves a bit to thin trying to keep up with increased demand and the expansion to crown point.

My Son booked a Sunday roast for me my partner for my Birthday and him and his girlfriend. What a fantastic roast, its the best roast we have ever had, with Hash browns and Cauliflower Cheese, plenty of food and fantastic quality. A fantastic selection of drinks and very friendly staff being looked after by Blue and Molly who were very friendly and helpful . We will definitely be back and will pass this on to our friends and family

We stayed here for two nights in October with friends. We thought the pub was lovely; great decor and atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. The hotel experience could be better than it is if there was a bit more attention to detail, as the rooms are decorated lovely and the facilities are good. However: On arrival the car park is a mess, which doesn?t create a good first impression when you pull up (stuff dumped in it). The door that goes up to the rooms is dirty and sticky, which I think is because the kitchen staff use it, so again, not a great first impression. The radiator in Room 4 is rusty and needs treating and painting. The shower needs descaling and re-sealing. The boiler makes a noise all night long and keeps you awake. The kitchen staff come in early on a morning below the room, put their music on, open/close doors loudly; this wakes you up. The continental breakfast has no best before dates on items and unfortunately our milk was off; we tipped it out and it was topped back up the next day, but into the jugs the off milk had been in. Also, the fire plan on the back of our door was labelled up wrong (says room 4 is room 5); just a H&S point that should be corrected. With these things corrected it would be lovely; it?s almost there, but these few things let it down unfortunately. We couldn?t fault the staff, atmosphere or decor.

Booked a Sunday lunch for our families to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. Sat for a hour and a quarter after they took our order and then asked what was the order again . Told us a story that the electric was down but we were watching orders coming out to customers that came in after us. So why not just say sorry we mucked up your order instead for lying to us.

Wonderful Sunday roast, plate piled high, stomach satiated kind of lunch, bustling and busy, locals a-buzzing, a room full of conversation, sofas and chairs. Rare ciders brought up from the cellars and unusual ales on tap at the dominant central Victorian bar. The kind of place that has a history. The only thing that surprised me was just how lean the beef was, not a smidgeon of fat on it! I?d throughly recommend the place but book ahead.

Great pub with a relaxed and friendly vibe. The quiz is fun but gets insanely busy to the point that we've started going elsewhere.

We stayed here for 2 nights as my Niece was getting married in Norwich. It was great! Food the first night was wonderful and so much of it! We had a couple of sharing dishes and a side and we couldnt finish it all...the service was good, friendly and engaging. The beer in the pub was good - not just all gassy lager crap but real local ales. The breakfast was a sort of continental service yourself from a picnic basket but it was lovely. Everything about the place was great, except maybe the location, which was fine - £7 to get into the city centre... it just looks a bit ...nothing...but what a great place. Will stay there again for next family event in Norwich! Thank you very much

The best Sunday lunch I've had in a long time. All my friends were extremely happy too which is a rarity as they can be rather fussy Would love to try other meals as other tables meals looked amazing
