Haven?t eaten here however, did camp. Lovely small site. Owner is so helpful and friendly. Quiet. Perfect for our little trip. Good location too. Pub was very busy so presuming food is good, and drinks were flowing. Staff were so helpful and friendly even in a very busy friendly night. ? recommend.

What can I say an absolute amazing pub.
First time visiting the pub whist travelling through to Essex.
As soon as we walked in the pub we were greeted by the owner of the pub who was extremely friendly and very helpful and asked how she could be of service.
We were then greeted by George the bar man who was again extremely welcoming and very friendly nothing was too much trouble.
The food was to die for, the portion sizes were fantastic along with the presentation which we loved.
The toilets were spotless no issues at all.
We loved walking around the pub especially loved the signs and sayings which made it unique ?
Overall we would highly recommend this pub to anyone that loves a traditional pub who loves thier food and a drink ?
We would definitely visit you again soon.

I visited with my family, and I had the days special, which was satay chicken, which was very good. My son had the lasagne, and my wife had the vegetable lasagne. Which they both thoroughly enjoyed.
Nice chilled out atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be going back.?
Parking: Parking is at the rear of the building.

Stayed at the campsite for one night and had some food in the pub. Facilities very basic and not very attractive. Lights in the shower not working in the morning, so not usable. Food very bland (I had a chicken curry) - below average. Service staff was trying their best, but very inexperienced. You get much better facilties at a better price at other campsites in the area.

We had a 4 night stay at the lovely campsite. Host was friendly, approachable. Site well maintained. Lovely little shop on site with all the essential . Unisex facilities which were always clean .Highly recommend The Red Lion pub campsite .We had a lovely evening meal in the pub and all allergies were catered for. 100 percent recommend.Will be returningKids play park was perfect and keep our children entertained for hours

Fish and Chip Friday, fantastic value £12, for fish and chips plus glass of wine, a real bargain, excellent food, cooked to perfectionParking: It can get busy, but then if the food is good, plus value for money, so it's bound to be busy, hence car park gets full

My wife & I visited this lovely quaint village in our campervan and stayed for 3 nights with our dog on the site behind the pub.The site was tidy & the toilets/shower block was clean with lovely hot water. Washing up facilities were also available & good.My wife is disabled & everything was easy for her to use with the shower room being fully accessible. Access to the pub was good for her too.The food & drink in the pub was excellent. The prices were very fair too. We went in on Wednesday which is steak night. The service was friendly and quick.We'll definitely be back to this gem of a place.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramped path up to a sheltered area with level access.
