Yet another garden centre

Small garden centre but a good selection for sale.

We sat in the marquee for lunch, and it has seen better days. It was drab, needed a darn good face-lift! The floor was covered in dead leaves, it smelled damp and fusty, overall it was not a nice place to eat. The food is slightly overpriced for the amount you get, I wouldn't say it is the best I've had in a garden centre.

Not having been to Sprowston Garden Centre for a long time, very good variety of plants, shrubs, pots all at very reasonable prices, inside there are many products, the scone and cappuccino in the Coffee Haven was excellent.Would recommend.

Lovely place for a coffee and cake. More gluten free choice would be appreciated ?

The cafe was excellent, lovely food and good portions for the money. The garden centre was well equipped with tools, lots of extra areas to look at (toys, puzzles, sweets) but lots of empty spaces in the outdoor furniture and BBQ'S.

Cafe review. Most of the seating here is outside or in a marquee which has heaters. In the cold season, customers prefer to sit in the cafe itself, which has settings for about 28 people, at tables for 2 or 4 customers. Unfortunately, my dozen ladies called in this morning at 10 30 am for hot drinks & a catch-up, assuming we could use the marquee as we have done in the past. There were about 6 customers already seated. On this occasion we were met with a reception as frosty as the weather outside. No heater in the marquee option, (although it was still set-up and furnished) & we were told in no uncertain terms that we were in the way and would have to give up our seats to people who wanted cooked breakfasts. We persevered with the hostile reception as politely as we could, as we had no time to find somewhere else to go. It was a social gathering & we had no appetite for an argument. Half of us are local customers of the garden centre. I myself had been in there earlier to buy a bird feeder. We felt very pressured to buy food with our hot drinks & were scowled at if we just ordered coffee. There was a surliness which was quite off-putting today and wasn?t merited. If you are a larger-than-average group, I would avoid this garden centre coffee shop in the cooler weather, unless you are all intending to order a cooked meal. I would have thought that between 10 30 to 12, ordering a hot drink and a flapjack while browsing the store would be quite a reasonable thing to do, and I wouldn?t have expected to be told that I would have to give my seat up to someone coming in behind me who wanted a full English. Perhaps this needs to be posted at the entrance to save customers the embarrassment of being turned away.I have complained before about the toilet block, which often needs maintenance and a clean. This is not a cheap garden centre, it needs to raise its game a little with customer care. It is now part of British Garden Centres, and the change of hands seems to have marked a change in standards on that front.

Coffee and scones were lovely. However, we were made to feel unwelcome and obliged/forced to buy food

We love this place & have bought plenty of things inc a patio suite, from the Christmas decorations etc to the staff, plants & have always enjoyed your cheese & fruit scones. Hopefully though you haven?t changed you recipe because the scone we had last week wasn?t good, I?m sorry to say that but wanted you to know. The fruit scone was hard & cheese scone wasn?t your normal. We will still come back & give them another try hoping it was a one off.
