I am coeliac, and pizza express is a trusted venue for me to choose to eat gluten free. Whilst I understand that there is always never an 100% guarantee food can be coeliac safe, I came in a couple weeks ago and ordered the gf dough balls, after telling my waitress that I was coeliac. The dough balls arrived, but did not look the same and weren?t the same consistency as the gluten free dough balls I usually receive when coming to pizza express. These were too bready, and really had me worried that they were accidentally the non gluten free ones. I asked the waitress to just confirm that they were gluten free, after already taking a bite, and she worryingly assured me that they were. Later that evening when I got home, I had a coeliac flare up, and a really really bad reaction to the dough balls, which I am almost 100% sure were not gluten free. As every other occasion when I have eaten the gluten free dough balls here, I do not have a reaction. I understand it is hard when the restaurant is busy to keep on top of these things. But this is a medical condition and not a choice, I would love to talk further on this.

It has been a good few years since eating at Pizza Express, but due to my last visit I was reminded why this was. Last weekend we decided to give it a go. We waited 30 mins to be acknowledged by our server after we had sat down- we had to get her attention and ask to place our order in the end, (if not I don't think we would have ever got served). I understand the waitress was busy, but a "hello" when speaking to us to take our order would have been nice at least, or to let us know she will be with us shortly when we were waiting. We felt like we were being ignored since we sat down and throughout pretty much most of the evening. The tables are crammed to the brim inside and we constantly had a stream of people and waitresses literally brushing past us because it was so jam packed.
When our food did arrive it was great, which was a relief. The pizzas were really tasty. Once we had finished, yet again the service let us down. We waited and waited and then finally we were offered the desserts menu so we decided we would take a look. After receiving the dessert menus we waited 15 minutes again for the waitress to take our order, then it turned out they didn't even have the dessert we wanted. Therefore we decided to just get the bill, in the end we got up and paid because it was so slow. We spent over 2 hours in this restaurant just for one course at £50 for 2 people. The service was so painfully slow I would not return. The pizzas were great, but not worth the service, it really let us down.

Came here yesterday just after 11:30am and had the Lasagna Classica. Inside is very fancy with nice lights and large tables. The waitress seemed a little weary of me for some reason which i don't understand. It took around 10 mins for me to get my food which is excellent. It was on a huge plate but was in a smaller container in the plate which resulted in a small portion. The food was fantastic. Very rich with tomato and a good amount of cheese on top. Was a little pricy for such a small portion at 15.25 through. Probably will be returning again in the future

Pretty good pizza express. Kids loved the colouring and quizzes on the menu so that's a win, although they didn't have a lot of pens, also where we sat had a really quiet dark spot so I used my phone light so they could see what they were doing. Very romantic perhaps but not great for word searches etc.
Food was standard fare, as expected.
Kids menu is good so that's nice.
Main reason we went is that they take Tesco vouchers so the cost is acceptable.

They need to go to Tesco round the corner and see how their pizzas are presented

Disappointing & stressful experience as it was overly busy & woefully understaffed.consequently service was pretty poor ...staff trying their best but against the odds !!
Inadequate toilet provision & no olives to be had compounded an unsatisfactory dining experience.

£19 for tiny pizza with 11% service charge when you pay for delivery...arrived cold and dry and not even sliced. Would not buy from there is you hungry or value your money

The best PizzaExpress restaurant in Norwich. I have had the pleasure of eating here on several occasions and the staff have always been wonderful! The food is always served quickly and is delicious.

Very disappointed with our pizzas. Thin! They were tissue thin,unable to pick up, had to roll it up then stab it to eat it. The christmas pizza had more dollops of cranberry sauce than turkey etc. And at £17 a head, we thought we could have got far more of a filling meal elsewhere, like a big carvery or steak meal. Very disappointing and hugely overpriced for what you got on the plate. Beer at over £7 a bottle too. Won't be going there again. Sorry.

Ahhh we had the best time ever! We went on the 18th of November (2024) it was our first time trying pizza express and it was fantastic! We ordered the meatball Italiano and padana pizza. For our sides we got the mozzarella sticks, pesto dough balls and halloumi bites! The pizza was absolutely amazing! So much flavour and really good quality! It is one of my favourite pizzas now! The mozzarella sticks were perfect, not your normal frozen ones. They were fresh and had great seasoning! I?m honestly still dreaming about that pizza! For dessert we had Tiramisu this was the first one I?ve had, where I?ve actually loved it! It was the perfect combination of chocolate, coffee and cream. Overall the meatball Italiano, mozzarella sticks and Tiramisu are a 10/10. 100% recommend! The atmosphere was really nice too. We had Rachel serve us and she was fantastic! She made our experience even better, quick serve and really helpful. She did a great job even though it was busy. We did feel that it was slightly under staffed as she looked like she was doing everything. She did amazing!

We were stood waiting for ages being looked at by staff but with no "well be with you soon. Other customers sat ahead of us ended up leaving as nobody took their orders so we also left. Such a shame as the place looks nice enough.

System was down was the excuse. I am happy to pay cash only but when we have booked we don't deserve to be turned away. Do they understand what it's like to have two young children you have to feed on time? On a busy night when you can't possibly then get any other food.

A lovely Tuesday dinner. Rachel was amazing. Made us feel like a regular and a friend. Rachel was working on challenging conditions with WIFi /card payments down but was super nice and couldn't have been more helpful. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. What an asset!
