? Mothers Day visit ? there is a £2 honesty box set up for the big car park. Very easy to find. It was a lovey short walk on a rainy day over the boardwalk to the bird hide. The boardwalk itself is just about okay for those with a stick but it?s very very muddy at the moment & not too stable under foot. Once at the bird hide it was awesome to watch all the activity as there were no other visitors it was so quiet and lots of wildlife activity. I saw a Dunnock of the first time! I recommend taking your binoculars, a flask of tea & something sweet whilst you twitch. We picked this place as easy to get to and would allow good dogs on leads ?Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly

Beautiful grounds and exterior of house plus nice tea room if sitting outside. The tea room inside wouldn?t be nice to sit in if the weather changed as it felt like a classroom / canteen. We thought the £10 entry fee included viewing inside the house . We were very disappointed that it just included a walk around the grounds . Although lovely as they are , £10 each to do so is rather over the top and we felt a bit ripped off . We?ve visited now but won?t be going back at that price .

What a fascinating garden. Roses, lakes and a stumpery romp. House looks on with a historical sigh. It's seen it all. Welcoming and enthusiastic young staff.

Such a stunning place to visit. I used to stay in a nearby caravan site as a child with my grand parents - it was lovely to visit again now i?m an adult! The boardwalk hasn?t changed at all, such beautiful wildlife to see.

What a great find. Not too big but a nice place to spend a couple of hours. Some great areas for children too. Nice cake at the tearoom. Thoroughly recommend.
