Purchased a hoover today, opened the box to see it and noticed it was big and bulky and not as lightweight as we?d expected it to be. 30 mins later returned it to their store to be served by Stuart who told us ?it doesn?t matter that you haven?t used the hoover, but the fact the box was opened classes as it being used? as if I didn?t have the right to return a product which I did not want. Under the consumer rights act & Argos? return policy I am well within my rights to do so, I provided a valid receipt and he even said he will ?put the return through for me ?just this once? as a gesture of goodwill? which is not the case at all because if it was unreturnable then he would not have processed the return. As soon as I heard ?just this once? I knew the kind of attitude I was dealing with, he then gave me a 10 minute lecture explaining that they need to be able to resell the item so to try not to open the box unless absolutely certain you are keeping the item, which is impossible when you can?t see anything in person in their shop & have to guess if it will be okay by looking at photos and descriptions on their site. They are clearly more interested in loosing sales than customer service. He then said half of the packaging from inside the box was ?missing? which it 100% was not. Don?t sell things if you can?t be bothered to process a return! Safe to say I won?t be returning to this store as they should remember customers are paying their wages by buying their products!

Today, 6, March 2025, I purchased a Bush 32-inch Smart TV from Argos for a reasonable price of £125. Since its acquisition by Sainsbury?s supermarket in 2016, Argos is now conveniently located inside the supermarket.
While I?ve seen some reviews highlighting poor customer service, my experience was quite the opposite. The entire transaction?from entering the store, selecting the TV from the catalog, paying for it, and leaving?took less than 12 minutes.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and the smoothness of the transaction!

This is by far the most disorganized poorly run and unprofessional branch I have ever been a customer at. During my recent visit customers got sarcastically yelled at for not being able to identify where they had to que up due to a lack of signs, as you get with soo many businesses now, technology has replaced staff and has slowed customer service down and this is no different here . The young fella who served me did not have a clue about the phone I was trying to enquire about. when I asked the manager I got sarcastically told that they weren't experts -well here's an idea, if your branch can't employ staff that don't have a basic understanding of each product don't stock that product? £40 spent on a basic phone with a memory card and the memory is not even giving me the type of storage space that I need it for. When I called the manager out for being rude he blamed his autism. Where would the world be without these pathetic victim players? Last time I will be buying from this branch.

Went to return a product that I was unsatisfied with & was faulty. Got shouted at by the manager instead- quote - ?I won?t be able to resell this product therefore I am unable to process your return request?. Very argumentative, spoke over me and kept raising her voice. I would avoid at all costs.

Terrible experience. They didn?t have a clue about their own return policy and just straight away told me no when I told them I was returning a faulty product. Really rude about it and sarcastic. Do not buy from here unless you want to enjoy a faulty product. Went to another Argos and got it sorted.

Awful service. Tried to collect my order and despite checking online they were open before making the trip, arrived to see they had clocked-off a good hour early and just left a hand-written note to say come back Monday. Return on Monday to collect on behalf of my partner - with the valid ID - and they now decide you can?t collect unless the person making the order is present - which has been absolutely fine on numerous occasions before. Make the rules up as they go along these lot! Shambles.

very bad customer service,ordered a washing machine inshop and paid.Told we will receive the product yesterday.waited all day at home.no update contacted the number which was supplier phone no.Guess what? the lady told me washing machine is out of stock and it wont be available fot atleast 3 months.Phoned Argos the person who took the phone was not helpful and said they dont know the the washing machine was out of stock and the she told me i called the supplier earlier otherwise they would have contacted me.ii phoned them at 16.00hrs.i asked to speak to the manager and told me they will contact me in72hrs.i cancelled my order i cant wait 3months to wash my clothes.

Today ordered online Apple watch 7 ( it was a gift).Pop in to colect, took my staff , went back to car and noticed watch box was opened and watch was damaged, small crack on screen , so obviously Argos tried to sell used and damaged product and store staff knew it , they prepared order , . When box was given to me , lovely lady put it upside down obviously to hide opening signs , so be careful and check what you are taking from lovely staff from Longwater, got a refund . So zero for you guys.

I wasn't able to give a zero star score, so had to leave a 1 star?? I went to the Longwater store in Norwich as I needed to buy a new microwave oven. I'd done my research online so I new exactly what I wanted and who had it in-stock on the day. When I got to the checkout I was told that it wasn't in-stock? I thought it was strange as online it was showing available to collect straight away. The person who served me said that I had to pay for it and pay to have it delivered if I wanted it on the same day?? I then asked if any other store had it available in Norwich to collect, she said no ?I knew that the Riverside store was showing one available so I headed there. I was greated by friendly helpful staff who helped me place my order, picked my microwave and even lifted into the car for me. So the moral of this story is head down to Riverside Argos not Longwater Argos, as you'll waste your time.
