I very rarely write reviews but reading some of the negatives made me wanting to share our experience We have arrived late on the sunday before Christmas at the closing time without a booking .We went to the shop but hoping to get lunch too The serving lunch time was over and the cafe was only opened for coffee and cakes Hower ,the staff have checked with the kitchen if it was any roast left and served us the lunch . They have all been very pleasant and helpful from the shop staff to the cafe Reading about waiting times others are complaining, we have experienced really long times in other restaurants, we were pleasntly surprised of the prompt service and the quality of food in this little cafe. The roast was amazing every time we have been here and the farm shop products are high quality and diverse. We don t live locally but this is definitely my favourite farm shop and we visit every time when we are coming to our holiday home even if it s a bit far . Thank you all .

Today I enjoyed a post Christmas Sunday lunch at Old Hall Farm, Woodton with family. We went non traditional on Christmas Day with roast beef so three out of the four of us chose turkey today. The (Norfolk) turkey was roasted to perfection, the wide range of vegetable accompaniments were delicious and the additional cauliflower cheese was also beautifully served, neither too soft nor too firm. Although the restaurant and staff were busy, the service was no less attentive - I would advise booking, you wouldn?t want to miss out. The only possible downside to this delightfully tasty lunch was that the portions were so large none of us could manage a dessert. Highly and unreservedly recommended.

Left waiting whilst moody staff wondered around trying their hardest not to make eye contact. When finally handed a menu expect to be ignored for another 15 minuets whilst the staff work on their bad attitude. Potential to be good with such a nice setting but terrible customer service, go elsewhere!

We have always shopped at Old Hall Farm for meat and other produce and it is of a really high quality. However the cafe has been disappointing mostly due to the approach of some of the staff. Barely a smile and looking like they could really not be bothered. I made a request for the bacon to be well done in my sandwich and when it came it looked like it had hardly been cooked. I appreciate that i should have said something at the time but to be honest this is the second time this particular waitress has ignored a request when serving me and I simply could not face having the conversation with her. The service is sadly really lacking and staff with the exception of the butchers are just not friendly and customer focussed. I will continue to shop but won?t eat in the cafe again.

If you want breakfast with friends and/or family Old Hall Farm is the place to go. All meat grown on the farm including milk from their Jersey cows. And it?s wheelchair accessible! Booking is recommended though if you go at weekends.

Wanted a nice place for food to spend time with family from NZ. Really enjoyed being able to walk around to see the animals, and have some food for some of them! Had a table outside, and the wasps were a problem, but good amazing. It was great to have some 'proper' milk, raw and with calf at foot - even better! The milkshakes were gorgeous and I didnt get a sore stomach because its A2. The burgers were just delicious, and every other person from our table of 10 really enjoyed it, saying they would like to go back We were 8 at table and everyone

I have always loved visiting Old Hall Farm but the past few times I have visited each time has left me feeling less enthused and my most recent visit definitely so. I visited with my parents and two young children and it got off to a disappointing start when after a wait to be seated we were 'greeted' by a rather unwelcoming lady. This continued throughout the visit as not once did we even recieve a smile from either ladies serving us. It was mid afternoon, nowhere near closing time with only 3 other tables dining so I'm not sure why we were left to feel like an inconvenience but sadly we did. As usual the food was of good quality and enjoyed by all, especially my youngest who dropped some crumbs from her cheese scone on the floor and as always wherever we go we offered to clean them up but it was a first to actually be presented with a dustpan and brush to do so, which just finished off a rather disappointing visit. Shame.

This is the third time that we have eaten at Old Hall Farm and yet again their sevice and food was brilliant. In particular, their allergy knowledge and protocols are fantastic. The chef came out to talk to us, made us feel very comfortable and generally was great. He is clearly very professional and takes pride the food he produces. The serving staff were friendly, kind and very quick. A great place to take several generations of the same family, with something for everyone. Bonus tip: if you get there before 10am you can see the cows being milked and even stroke some. Just a really lovely, wholesome experience all round.

We had the celebration afternoon tea, it was delicious, my only criticism was we didn't get to choose our sandwich and I couldn't eat salmon. But otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is the third time we have been for a meal here, every single time the staff are faultless and the food amazing. We will see you again soon.

The good; We had a spectacular Sunday lunch here. The food was outstanding. Fresh, hot, generous portions of quality ingredients cooked extremely well. Lovely combinations of ingredients and excellent choice. Staff were accommodating in terms of offering a children?s menu and bringing my son?s food with our starters Things to work on? We went on Mother?s Day and it was, understandably, packed. Tables were so close together staff were pushing past, people were having to stand up to let anyone with any mobility problems past. Staff had zero social skills, barely made eye contact or spoke and took 20 minutes to be offered a drink. It was EXTREMELY busy, and I accept that but I still think there are some staff training issues to support the young people working here to improve their hospitality skills.

Lovely cafe, great food. Love that you can walk around and see the animals too. Service was good, although a little slow. Some inexperienced young staff, that could be a little more attentive.

My son and I each had the grazing platter. They were filled with a beautiful variety of cheeses, meat and pickles and served with a coleslaw, salad and lovely bread and butter. We also bought some bits from the butchery and shop and were served by the delightful Josh who customised a box for my shopping! We would both highly recommend the cafe, shop and butchery. Old Hall butchery products are also available at Paddock Farm shop in Mulbarton with the equally delightful Tom serving.

Visited old hall farm for lunch yesterday with family. Not my first visit, but sadly there?s a pattern here. The food is always really good In the cafe, but the service isn?t up to much anymore, anytime I?ve been here. Food ordering was very prompt, arrived in good time, but that?s all I can say that?s positive. We had to ask twice to have our main course plates etc cleared as we?d ordered cake and coffee.. still took a good while! Waiting staff ?pottering about? not making eye contact with us while they reset tables and made themselves busy. When I went to the till to order cake and a drink I asked to settle up my part of the bill.. I was greeted by an annoying sigh from the girl who was serving me. Considering there?s another farm cafe just a minutes drive up the road, I think maybe a little courtesy and staff training wouldn?t go amiss! A gem of a place, just let down badly by the staff.

The rare breed pork sausages and roast vegetables that came with them were superb, as was the ham that I had. Good portion sizes too and everything was cooked to perfection. Staff in the shop and restaurant were helpful and friendly. It is a bit of a trek for us but we will definitely be going back.
