We stayed one night as a treat as live locally and had seen a lot online about it.
The room was incredible, the staff were super friendly and helpful and breakfast was the best I have ever had at any hotel in the UK.
We didn?t eat in the bar but the fact they were fully booked the night we stayed says it all. Would highly recommend.

The Lodge was one of our go-to places. We had lunch there today (February 2024). We both had the Smashburger. It was simply a burger with a few fries and nothing else. At £17 for a burger it looked, and was, a sad meal at a price that did not match! All a bit steep. Add to the bill £14 for a large glass of wine and the value proposition falls like a lead balloon.Meanwhile, the adjacent table received the wrong order. That couple ate separately whist the correct meal was prepared and delivered. A terrible experience for them. Not good service.Despite our experience with our main course we waited to order a desert. We waited and waited and waited. Many young waiters and other staff were present but none came to see us. We were located in the 'garden room' and perhaps out of sight and out of mind. No staff were in that space for over 10 minutes! We gave up on desert and I went to the till to pay. Terrible service.I had already booked to return to The Lodge for early March. There will be five or more of us. I am now not looking forward to the event. The venue was my choice. I may have to reconsider.I have previously met the owner of The Lodge. I am sure that he would not wish his customers to have such a poor experience.Staff training may help. A little salad or coleslaw with the burger may help. A review of wine and/or supplier may also help.Hopefully my experience in March will be better; it needs to be.Update: March 2024I arrived at The Lodge in time for my booking of a table for four. Again, I was seated in the 'garden room'. A bottle of Prosecco was provided from The Management; which I accepted. I do not know if someone had read my earlier review or they learned that I was to be married at the weekend. No explanation was given and I did not ask.My table guests arrived and we had a great meal with more drinks. The Lodge staff were attentive without being overbearing. They were the same with other diners so not an act for me. After our meal other wedding guests joined us, staff moved tables etc. to accommodate us, and we had a very pleasant evening. One of our party ordered the Smash Burger. I said nothing! They did say that it looked like it was missing something. Perhaps some slaw? The Lodge are back to what I consider normal (ie very good).

Rooms: We stayed at The Lodge for the second time and it has become our "go to" place to stay whenever we're in Hunstanton. Previously we stayed in the room called The Snug, this time we stayed in The Bottle Store. Both VERY spacious with a huge bed and both are dog friendly.Food & drinks: Had breakfast and dinner and both are hearty with a good choice.

Great for many reasons!! We are returning customers and this hotel never disappoints. The DBB option is extremely good value, especially with the food being so delicious. Rooms are all lovely and so comfortable. The staff are ALL so lovely and the hotel runs like clockwork. Sadly you can?t keep me away. Well done everyone!!Noteworthy details: Lovely hotel with beautiful beach opposite. Restaurant is lovely and food delicious. Lots of different rooms, which I recommend you investigate as a good choice room can make all the difference. Lovely bar to relax and conservatory and play area for kids a bonus. We have been coming for 10 years and today on check in there was a mix up on our part and they were outstanding and gracious to fix. Highly recommend. Thank you The Lodge!!

Went in to eat only. Ordered a turkey roast and fish and chips.... roast was hot in the middle and cold around the edge manager assured me they didn't use a microwave lol... but we all know the a microwave heats from the middle out... told them I wasn't happy to pay £20 for this cold meal and was giving a £6 discount. My husbands fish and chips well... it was all batter no fish... the peas were not mushy but chopped up and gross he didn't eat them!. Ordered 2 sausage for my dogs at £2 each only they enjoyed their treat in all this. This place is a waste of money. Over rated! I'd never step foot on here again......Food & drinks: Gross cold food. Carrot puree like baby food. No fish in the batter. Save your money go eles where... !

We were staying locally and were contemplating where to go for a meal and some drinks. We thought we?d give The Lodge a try as we?d eaten at another local pub the last time we were in Old Hunstanton (which wasn?t great!) but had only been in to The Lodge once for a drink a few years ago. Very pleased we did!We had our dog with us so we sat in the bar. It?s got a lovely feel to it, and modern decor. We had a peer into the restaurant area and that looked lovely. The service throughout the evening was excellent. Really friendly and attentive staff (and lovely to our dog, bringing him out some treats!), and everything was done quickly and efficiently. There are times when you can go out for a meal and the food is nice but just ok. The food here was much more than ok, it was absolutely lovely! Starters were a delicious smoked salmon roulade, and mussels with THE most tasty sauce. Mains were a steak and a vegetarian lasagne, both of which were delicious. We were so pleased we went here. We didn?t really know what to expect, but were blown away by the amazing meal we had, and excellent service, and would without a doubt go back again the next time we are in Old Hunstanton.Thank you to all the staff for making our evening so nice!

Nearby activities: A few hundred yards from the beach and dunes. Pitch & putt and foot golf a short walk away. Young children's playground across the roadWalkability: Easy walks on footpaths. Tarmaced car park but parking tight if the pubs full. It's Naarfuk. It's pretty flat. Some roads are narrow and have no footpathFood & drinks: Upmarket set up. Spacious. But food & drink prices are near the top end but decent quality.Had an excellent Sunday lunch which is served well into the afternoon! I've had mixed quality from the normal menu.Personally I think the real ale choices is dull. Would be good to have local brews e.g. Moongazer, Barsham or guest beers. Good choice of lagers, craft beers etc
