We wanted afternoon tea but have a nervous dog, so the hotel kindly arranged for us to have it as a take away. It was one of the best afternoon teas we?ve ever had, particularly the

Popped in for lunch very nice definitely recommend. The only downside was a large glass of white wine was £13.50 which I thought was expensive.

Fantastic hotel, staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for us, Drinks were reasonably priced, food was really tasty but a tad pricy. Shout out to all the staff who worked this weekend especially with the wedding and all the people who kept me company while I took care of the baby!Rooms: Superior room, loads of space, gorgeous bathrooms, slightly outdated TV, super comfy bed!Food & drinks: Flavours absolutely on point, all the food was really tasty, and drinks were very reasonably priced. I think the food was priced quite expensively though

Member of a recent wedding party.Very impressed with overall organisation , professionalism and presentation throughout the day. The food was delivered hot , plentiful and the operation running smooth and slick.Side note, I personally lost a very sentimental tie pin ( needle in a haystack ) but on calling the hotel they sent out a search party and called me back saying that it had been found. The icing on the cake, highly recommended for an honest trustworthy and five star customer service the bride and groom must have been delighted with their day.

This is a purpose built hotel to cater for golfers, bird watchers and general tourists to north Norfolk. There is ample parking, much of the build is ground floor only constructed around an attractive (wind protected) courtyard and several bedrooms feature external doors to designated and adjacent parking slots. The Reception area is central with spacious dining and lounges. The rooms are well appointed especially the bathroom with walk-in shower, wc, wall mounted heating and basin with adequate space for toiletries. The double bed was comfortable with two good pillows per person. My only grumble was that the hanging cupboard doors opened onto the foot of the bed so full access was restricted and difficult. I was concerned at the lack of windows that opened so i can imagine these rooms being quite stuffy in a hot summer? No aircon as such but a huge ceiling fan. I find these noisy and obtrusive - always prefer the flow of fresh air.

This is our second stay at Briarfields in 5 weeks and our third stay overall . We think the value for money and the location is hard to beat . We booked the DBB and found the choices extensive. Our rooms both times were very well equipped and clean with a separate patio area . We did think it unusual to serve the steak with one extremely large chip and nothing else , no tomatoes, mushroom or onion ring and felt the £10 additional charge a little high, but the rest of the meal was outstanding. Breakfast was also lovely . We will return and the sooner the better .

The worst hotel experience we have ever had! We booked the hotel through booking.com and upon arrival was told there were 2 bookings in our name. We had only received confirmation emails for one booking and upon checking out booking.com account could only see 1 reservation, so thought nothing more of it. After a 3 hour drive and with 15 minutes to get to a wedding we were in a rush to get ready. Within minutes there was a knock on the door from the guy at reception, who decided that we didn?t answer the door quick enough and so he would look through the glass by the side of the door instead, whilst we were half dressed! On opening the door he began to say that we would need to contact booking.com as the hotel doesn?t deal with them. After explaining to him AGAIN that we only have 1 confirmation email and that there are no other reservations linked to our account he began to blame us for the situation. He continued to say that the cost of the unclaimed room was our fault and we had cost the hotel a lost room and we would need to call booking.com to sort out their problem. In complete shock that this is how the hotel staff approach guests who have just arrived, the experience was ruined from the very start. To add insult to injury upon check-out we had to deal with the same man on reception who again started to say we needed to call booking.com to sort out the hotels problem for them. In disbelief we asked for his manager who wasn?t available. By the time we returned home and expecting an apology from the manager, we instead received an email from her saying how she had tried to take payment for the other room unrelated to us. Luckily this fraudulent and unauthorised activity wasn?t successful. In complete disbelief we called booking.com who explained the other reservation had a different email address, a different phone number and wasn?t linked to our account. Due to GDPR they couldn?t tell us anymore about the booking as it wasn?t ours. Therefore it was either an error or fraudulent and as expected nothing to do with us. The hotel manager must have known this and hence tried to charge us twice for the legitimate booking we had already paid for upon checkout. Had she pursued the unpaid reservation we would never had heard anything from her, as it wasn?t linked to our account or email address. A terrible experience from start to finish and I would advise anyone against staying here!

Good for the overnight stay we needed with our dog. Good shower and bath facilities but felt the food was a little disappointing in quality. We opted for the all in package of dinner and breakfast. We chose from a limited menu opting for the roast beef which on refection may have been better at lunch time. Staff were friendly and helpful.
