My friend had booked for Sunday lunch for two of us. We arrived early to enjoy a coffee before lunch. We informed the staff that we had table reservation and expected them to bring menus over. Didn?t happen. So we asked for menus and expected the staff to take orders and show us through to the dining room. Also didn?t happen. So we walked in to the dining room and stood by the desk. Staff walked by us but took a while to acknowledge our presence. We requested lamb and for it to be pink. It was delicious but definitely not pink.
After lunch we requested 2 coffees and asked if the staff could serve the coffee in the garden and put the umbrella up for us. It was very warm and sunny that day.
We sat down and waited, and waited. My friend and I were both finding the sun a bit too bright so I started to do the umbrella myself. Another customer came over to help, it was then a staff member came and finished putting the umbrella up to offer some shade. She also said our coffee was on its way.
Another 10 or so minutes later I asked another staff member about our coffee and was told again it was on its way.
After another long wait we gave up and decided to leave.
On paying the bill we were told the coffees were being made.
The wait was ridiculous!
I was so disappointed in the service. My friend who had visited the Pheasant many times for meals had always said how special it was and it would be a great experience. I was considering booking a long weekend stay there as the building and grounds were beautiful and peaceful. But unfortunately the service really let us down.

'STAY' Just enjoyed a fantastic stay at The Pheasant Hotel. Great food, wonderful surroundings and brilliant, friendly staff. The hotel, rooms and grounds are lovely. A perfect stay.

Another seriously good Sunday lunch. Good food, well prepared, well cooked and attractively presented. The Pheasant Sunday roasts are consistently the best I have eaten. The Eton Mess Sundae and a double espresso rounded off a memorable meal.
And the bill was reasonable too. Value for money 5?

Just returned from two night stay,absolutely and genuine review,fantastic we enjoyed every minute,one of the cleanest hotels we. Have ever stayed in ,and we have stayed in hotels around the world,the staff where excellent,polite,professional and so friendly,the food again was amazing and excellent,the grounds around the hotel are well maintained ,a truly professional and very pleasant hotel to stay in ,we will certainly be returning ,a very big Thankyou to everyone who works in this hotel you should be very proud of yourselves. Again thankyou mr&mrs p Wilson.

Stay was fantastic, I can't speak highly enough of this hotel, its absolutely beautiful, in the perfect location with a lovely outdoor area. The whole place is spotless. The food is outstanding. The staff are all amazing, so passionate about giving guests the best experience, they care and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, the fridge was very welcome feature due to the warm weather, allowed us to have cold bottles of water. The toiletries are of a high standard and the Dyson hairdryer was lovely. We will recommend to others and we will definitely be back, thank you to all.

Visited The Pheasant for afternoon tea for a friend's birthday. Service was absolutely excellent, as was the food. Sat outside afterwards for a couple of drinks and a chat. It was so relaxing that we ended up staying for over 4 hours! Well be back soon!
