Cley Marshes NWT is a great place to visit to see a great variety of birds. Good hides and fabulous visitor centre with extensive views across the marsh to the sea. The shop has lovely quality items. The cafe serves lovely, freshly prepared food and excellent cakes and coffees. There is now a pay and display machine in the carpark. If you are going to go around the reserve they give you a ticket for free parking when you pay in the VC. If you are just using the VC then you pay at the machine, but you get a voucher for a free hot drink. So in effect the parking is free.

Friendly helpful enthusiastic staff help you get underway for a half day or day on the reserve. Easy to access hides and decent paths. Take appropriate clothes for the weather the resetve is obviously exposed with limited shelter. Good cafe and toilets and an exhibition of art work worth checking out

Was disappointed really. Not because of the reserve but because of the enormous amount of money spent on the visitor centre which could have been spent on wildlife.Went to rspb titchwell the next day they have a reasonable brick building and a loo in the car park and spend the money on wildlife.

Initial feeling was "we're being ripped off for car parking - again". But it's only £3 for 3 hours and you get a voucher for £3.50 against a hot drink so really it's a free car park provided, like us, you intend getting something to eat or drink. The coffee was good and the flapjack I had was too. Not dry, not too gooey, Just right.

Visited the marshes on a very windy gale - and enjoyed a good "blow". We had hoped to be able to take a boat trip nearby to see seals, but the weather was so stormy that the boats were not sailing.

Outstanding place to visit, great cafe and gallery to browse around and an outstanding nature reserve, which is well maintained and run.Lots to see and do, and has lots of different habitats, from scrapes, Marsh, reedbeds and beach and sea.

Good place visit for snacks etc, parking gives you access to the reserve across the road and a discount ticket on drinks. Good education areas and art areas to interest all.

The cafe is alright for a quick lunch. There is a viewing platform to watch wildlife and try spotting scopes before you buy.The carpark is a rip-off if you only want to stay an hour or two.

If you are into Wildlife then Cley Marshes is a place you have to visit. We are members of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, which for a small monthly fee gives you access to all of their sites and allows to park for free too. There are a few hides you can sit and view the various animals or if you are a bit more energetic there are some great walks around the Marshes. Once you have had enough you can visit the Visitor Centre where you can buy drinks and cakes as well as spend a penny if needed.

Lovely place to visit. The main access point for NWT Cley and Salthouse Marshes is located 0.8km (0.5 miles) east of Cley Next the Sea village, on the Coast Road ? A149 towards Sheringham. Regular buses stop outside the visitor centre ? non-members can present their ticket for a reduced entrance fee to the hides (the visitor centre is free to all). Access to the hides is free to members and children, with a charge for non-members. The Coast hopper bus also stops in the village of Salthouse where public footpaths pass through the reserve leading to the beach. The entire reserve can be circumnavigated by a series of walking tracks, which also lead into the village of Cley to the west and Salthouse to the east. Car parking is available at the centre, with additional parking available at the beach car park (all parking free to members, charge for non-members).

One of my favourite places on the North Norfolk coastline. A great centre for information and views across the vast salt marshes. At the right time of the year, a phenomenally diverse variety of wildlife, particularly birds.Frequent art exhibitions, Cley Spy Optics sales, an excellent cafe and plenty of parking. Full disabled access and a treat for all visitors. It will not disappoint.

Amazing place to visit. The RSPB visitors centre is free, they have a viewing gallery and provide powerful binoculars to view the marshes, fascinating place, they also have hides out near the marshes, you do have to pay for that bit, a ticket is required, but probably well worth it if you're a budding twitcher. The have a cafe and gift shop. Once you have done the rspb centre you can also drive out to the shingle beach just up the road, also a beautiful spot, and a rare habitat, both these places are at Cley/Salthouse, easy to find on the coastal road.
