Just had our family get together here for my father?s 85th birthday! We had a dog friendly room which was perfect. I have also eaten here a few times and food has always been great and service very good and friendly. This is also a perfect location near to Burnham Market which is a safe and easy 50 minute walk away. All in all a great family run independent hotel and restaurant??

We stayed here for only one night but we will definitely be back! From the initial walk into the front door of this beautiful house, to us leaving it was nothing short of excellence. We almost felt as though we lived here ourselves as the vibe was so inviting and relaxed. We were lucky to have bedroom 5 which had an amazing view of the grounds and the vineyard. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Best night sleep I?ve had in ages. The peacefulness here is like a retreat from noise. The food was also beautiful. Locally sourced and seasonal. My steak was like butter! Breakfast, well again just excellent. We cannot wait to visit this rural retreat again. Thank you to all The White House staff.Jenn and Nick Hudson

Fantastic weekend stay in this beautiful house. Personally loved the ?self service? feel as made it so much more relaxing than having staff buzzing around all the time & made it feel like home for the weekend. Honesty bar was well stocked with some great wine & spirits on offer. Jonny was a great host when we dined in the restaurant, food was delicious so throughly recommended. Everything was perfect - would give 6 stars if possible!

Really enjoyed our stay at the White House near Brancaster. Located in rural countryside, just a few minutes from the coast or trendy Burnham Market, this hotel 'ticks all the boxes' especially for couples. The building has been very tastefully restored with a unique homely feel in the public rooms. Complimentary homemade biscuits and cakes as well as tea and coffee, were always available to be taken out on the peaceful patio area, with adequate seating and sun loungers to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. A wide range of beverages were available from the honesty bar. Our bedroom (Room 8), was tastefully decorated and had a King size bed with quality crisp linen. The bathroom, not only had a roll top bath, but a decent size walk in shower. The toiletries were also of the highest quality. The breakfast was very good and our only regret is that we did not have dinner here as had already booked elsewhere. This is a place we would certainly book again if we are in the area, and is thoroughly recommended.

We have stayed at The White House many times over the years. Each visit never disappoints, it feels like we are coming home. We love the relaxed atmosphere as soon as you cross the threshold. We enjoyed the Table d?hote supper one evening, we were served delicious home cooked roast beef and pavlova. The White House breakfast sets you up very well for the day and the staff cannot do enough for you.

I agree with everybody else giving 5/5 reviews to the White House. The food, the location, the decoration and cleanliness of the rooms are espectacular. I?m not sure if people have mentioned before but they even offer games like tenis, cricket, basketball to keep kids distracted. This is definitely going to be our place to stay from now on when we are in Norfolk. Thank you Mark and to the rest of the staff.

Lovely building in a very nice setting down a country lane. The room was really nice, and a comfortable bed, with extremely plump pillows! The absolute icing, is the fabulous breakfast, and also we had a lovely meal the evening before. Will definitely visit again, as we both really enjoyed our stay. Just wish the weather had been better ??

What a fantastic experience - so so so relaxing, - lovely laid back and friendly atmosphere. The gardens and rooms and lounges were gorgeous. It rained (yes in July!) and we spent the afternoon curled up on the comfy sofa near the fire, with tea and a book and all the guests were so nice too. They also had gluten free bread for breakfast and did me a special gluten free granola pot with yogurt and fruit compote which was so nice of them. We have already recommended it to a few people! We will definitely be coming again!

A lovely location for us, we like peace and quiet, and we love the countryside. We followed the advice in the welcome email and added The White House homepage to our phone screen. It had a lot of useful information, including a step by step guide to checking in and information on where to eat locally. The key was easy to find, we met the owner on our way to our room and he was very polite and welcoming. Our room was on 2 floors, downstairs we had a TV with Sky box in a room with a comfortable sofa and two armchairs. It also had a fridge, with fresh milk inside. There was a nice comfortable armchair and side table in the hallway, which was nice to relax and look outside into the back garden with the doors wide open. The bathroom is also located on this floor. Upstairs in the bedroom there are plenty of drawers for clothes, a TV with skybox, dressing gowns and a nice bath! We loved the electric blinds! Plenty of plug sockets, and tea and coffee making facilities. We had a great night's sleep, the bed was comfortable and it was very quiet. Breakfast was just right, we were met by a staff member and taken to a table of our choice. I ordered coffee and it arrived within a few minutes, and then we ordered our cooked breakfast which was perfect for us. There is a lounge area, with some interesting books available to read, and a room with tea/coffee facilities, cake and biscuit. There was also an honesty bar, with a wide selection of drinks. We went to Brancaster Beach which was just 15 minutes drive away from the hotel. We noted there is an electric car charger in the car park, which we will use next time we visit this wonderful hotel. Not only was it a great hotel, but we also saw some lovely wildlife, including a Green Woodpecker, Red Kite, an Owl, Goldfinches, Housemartins, and Wagtails! We also saw Deer and Hares! As mentioned, we fully intend coming back to this hotel, it really did exceed our expectations!

Beautiful peaceful location and the bedrooms and interiors are very stylish in an understated way which completely suits the lovely house. Some reviewers have commented on the 'Marie Celeste' lack of staff, on arrival we found someone (the owner, maitre'd, who knows? he didn't introduce himself) but he seemed rather irritated by our presence and even more by the fact that, as first time guests, we didn't know where our room was and politely asked him to explain. We were pointed to a slip of paper (not with the room keys) and left to it. The impression was of an old boy's club, where if you didn't know the ropes, you shouldn't be there. Rather strange and uncomfortable for what purports to be a hospitality business. We did warm to the place, it's very quiet at night, there is an attractive sunny garden, the breakfasts were good and the serving staff friendly, hence the four stars. We didn't eat dinner there. Not sure if we would go back, though, after being made to feel so unwelcome on arrival. Maybe the owner (if that's who he was) should look up the word hospitality in the dictionary.

Came and stayed one most enjoyable night out of three we chose on a short break and definitely the best of the best! Very clean, nicely appointed with friendly farmer leading a equally nice team set in glorious position just on fringes of Burnham Market - lovely lovely lovely - we will return for sure

We found this place by accident, how lucky we were! Loved it, it is beautifully styled. It is more like a luxury boutique hotel vs b&b. We enjoyed the freedom of honesty bar. The friendly owner Mark for top tips. Make sure you try the extra potatoes that he farms. Breakfast was yummy, the granola with plum compote was my favourite. Ate in the restaurant on the Friday, this also didn't disappoint. Look forward to returning

Fantastic place. Location is a half hour walk from the town and beach and it's very tranquil and relaxed. I had a basic room but good tea and shower with a firm mattress (which is a personal preference). Everything I needed in the room. The staff and very polite and attentitive if you need them but otherwise leave you to get on which I thought was a brilliant way to host. Well stocked bar and lovely garden area. Food was also fantastic. Would highly recommend this place

The hotel is beautiful and in a really great location. The downstairs lounge, breakfast room and honesty bar are really very lovely, and the room was comfortable and spacious with a stunning bathroom. The recommendations given in the area are very thoughtful, and we had a great few days exploring the area. There are also little extras included that we really enjoyed - namely, a near constant supply of cookies and cake alongside the complimentary tea and coffee. The breakfast included was also very tasty, with a great range of options. However, there were a few improvements I would make:- The service itself is almost non-existent other than at mealtimes. Our room wasn?t cleaned on the first day, and was only cleaned the next day when we specifically asked whether we?d done anything wrong at breakfast, which I felt was quite unusual for a luxury hotel. Walking into the hotel, nobody was around, and you end up picking up the key yourself and letting yourself into your room - but it was so quiet it almost felt like you were breaking in to someone?s house! It would be nice if there was someone around to welcome you. I do generally prefer hands off service but this felt like it was pushed to the limit.- In the evenings, the breakfast area is turned into a restaurant. We can highly recommend the food, however, guests of the restaurant then ended up using the hotel lounge area which meant that we weren?t always able to. This was quite frustrating and it didn?t feel like we were prioritised as hotel guests.- Smaller points, but a larger selection of board games and robes provided in the rooms would have been lovely.Overall, we enjoyed our stay but the above are some general points to consider.
