Couldn't believe how much Crossways has changed since my last visit in 2015. It was once a lovely little site, ideally situated close to Fakenham town and the North Norfolk coast. Now it's just a cramped, characterless building site, full of unsightly park homes and half built plots. The toilets and utility room look and smell like something out of a third world country. Signs 'politely' ask paying guests to use a bucket of filthy water and mop, to do the cleaning for them! Can't speak for the owners or staff, cos I didn't see anyone who looked like they worked there. The on site shop and post office was closed whilst I was there, but a friendly caravan owner (Tony?) gave me some much appreciated local info and recommendations. Sad to say I won't be returning to Crossways. There are much nicer, better run sites for the same or less money.

First appearance was what a dump but I only booked in for two days so I put up with it. I dont think it has and certainly didnt look like it had had anything spent on it for years. Shower area was filthy. I had to pick up and throw away parts of animal bones on my pitch. Quite obviously parts of a cattle which I assume someone's dog had, had . Drinking water filling was a pain in the neck as it was knowhere near anyone pitch. Drasticall needs up grading and probably why its cheap.

I booked my pitch through Pitch up at the last minute having changed my plans. Fortunately I booked a fully serviced pitch and I am pleased I did. The 'Drinking Water' Stand pipe was overgrown and consisted of a stand pipe with a bit of garden hose attached. The pitches are poorly maintained as is the whole site. On arrival I was greeted with a welcome and an offer of assistance should I need it as I was a lone traveller. The toilets have undergone a recent update, however it was obviously a home crafted 'budget' make over. The paths to the toilets were dirty and needed a good weed and sweep, the toilet doors needed panting and the toilet cubicles need replacing. All in all they were basically clean but because they were old and in need of a full refurbishment they were unwelcoming. The site has a number of static vans and the majority of touring pitches have sited tourers making the site unwelcoming for a touring visitor. I am afraid the site presented nothing like the description on Pitch up and if my wife had been with me then I do not think we would have been there above a few hours. The site is in a good location and sadly if updated then it could attract a very good customer based income. It was tired and in great need of tic The lack of WIFI was also a problem, for £30 a night WIFI nowadays is a must I left a day early due to the weather changing and the site not being to my liking
