Bought some oranges. Cost a little more than other supermarkets but its the only place around where I can buy oranges at 2am. Have bought fuel before. They sell, I pay. The end. Couldn't afford to do my weekly shop there but they seem to he save a good selection with a reasonable service.

First visit today. Wanted to buy a plastic carton of Pea & Ham soup. It said on the carton ' IN THE SOUP DEAL detail on ticket '. Asked member of staff what the deal was and was told there was no deal it was finished. There were about 5 or 6 different flavours of soup in a row with a ticket label of £2.10 so decided to proceed with purchase despite the expense. Paid £2.70 at check out and queried the price and was told £2.10 label did not relate to that soup ( no £2.70 label to show it was any different ). When I asked for an explanation I was told some were vegetarian but the pea & ham had meat in it and that's why it was dearer. I reluctantly accepted this feeble reason for the price but politely indicated that I wasn't particularly happy. The member of staffs parting shot was " Well that's M & S for you ! "
Firstly, if the label on the carton say's ' IN THE SOUP DEAL ' then that's what it should be OR it should be removed from the shelf and replaced with newer stock WITHOUT the label. Secondly, isn't vegetarian food usually DEARER than the norm ? Thirdly, if the price label had been £2.70 I wouldn't have considered it any way. You shouldn't have to guess a price, I made a perfectly rational assumption that it would be £2.10. And finally, not much of a positive comment by the staff member about the company she was working for. I don't think M & S in Dereham will be very high on my list of shopping venues in the future !
