Sadly, our experience was not a good one. On arrival we were informed that due to staff shortage there was no carvery and a 45 minute delay. This was not a problem so we stayed and ordered. After 50 minutes I asked if there was an update on our order and was told it would be another 10 minutes due to a hen party that was being catered for. After a further 30 minutes I asked again where our food was and after a short check was told it was now being served. When it was served the sauce was dried to a paste and the food looked and tasted like it had been under a hot plate lamp for a while. The staff did offer a complimentary drink or desert but this was neither convenient or wanted. In summary, if you know you have less staff than needed with a large group being served, don?t take on more than you can handle.

Some food was lukewarm - including the Yorkshires & Stuffing & the chilli potato (it was in the carvery), the sprouts were also hard & inedible. It's such a shame, it was so busy people were getting turnt away at the door yet many tables were heard talking about the food not being the most enjoyable. Very unfortunate and £65 not well spent in my opinion.

Had booked a table as had received a 30% off mains voucher so decided to try it out.
Last year we had visited a different greenstones & our order was messed up & food not particularly warm or great so hadn't been again but the voucher encouraged us to try a different greenstones.
On arrival this time we were told there was no carvery left which was disappointing so we chose from the mains menu instead. Tried to order online as said could add the voucher code for discount on there but after adding all the food & drinks there was no option to add it so had to go to the bar & wait instead.
Placed order at 6.58pm but the waited an hour before our food was brought to us. Had ordered a mega mixed grill which said had a chicken breast but it was only 1/2 of 1, had ordered a medium steak but it was rare, bloody & really chewy & the onion rings were really dark, overcooked, only tasted of cooking oil & were lukewarm.
The only part of the meal that was actually enjoyable was the 1/2 rack ribs we added as an extra.
As we had waited so long for the meal we were hungry so didn't complain at the time, ate what we could then asked for the meat leftovers to take home for the dog
Really disappointing meal, super slow service & even with discount voucher poor value for money so would not recommend this restaurant to anyone else or visit here again

Jacket potatoe cheese,beans very disappointing, smallest jacket ever,think there was about dessert spoon of beans,..side salad was three lettuce leaves and a small square bit of tomatoe ..

Came to green stone this evening and was disappointed from the start, got told where the table was not actually shown wasn?t asked if we wanted a high chair wasn?t asked about allergy?s or intolerances, the deck looked awful this was at peak time also, had to wait 10 minutes for extra fries as ordered and they for got the cheese on a cheese burger which caused a meltdown for my stepson the staff looked like they didn?t want to be there put the person who served the meat was ok so I was told, no offer of sauces or even a check back on food, Ordered a desert and main plates where not cleared,
I work in a restaurant my self as a team coach so I understand things can happen but this not enough this is the 2rd Marston?s I?ve been in a different postcode, it?s a shame as my mix grill was lush the children and other people enjoyed their meals also.

Haven't been here for a while, decided to have a meal today 13th February 2025 5:37pm. It's certainly gone downhill since my last visit. Ordered the food, waited 25 minutes, (the restaurant was not busy,) chased up the staff and the food arrived 5 minutes later. My Ultimate burger was anything but. The burgers, bacon and chips were all burnt. The side order of onion rings was cold. Wife's sweet potato fries were also burnt and her Pepsi max was flat. My beer was the best bit, cold and wet. The staff were polite but I sensed that they lacked motivation. Once the food was served no-one dared to ask us if everything was OK. We ate the food for 2 reasons, 1 we were hungry and 2 we didn't fancy waiting another 25 minutes for a replacement meal.

Salad bar was great and service was ok. The main meal was very disappointing, steak very fatty and mostly not edible , flatbread not nice and the sage sauce that accompanied it was splattered all over it and disgusting. The salad is what gave it the scores essentially

Shocking ,7pm on a Wednesday evening and customers are told to sit in a corner of the restaurant,no carvery, shocking atmosphere,staff are not bothered ,poor poor restaurant,will never ever recommendor come back. £9.95 for a poor quality malbec, didnt even bother to stay for food ,went elsewhere! see ya?

Has to be the driest most horrendous Burger I?ve ever had. I asked for another Patty as they were dry and hard, 30 seconds later she comes out with another one. Definitely microwaved. Paid for garlic bread and cheese and received three tiny slices with burnt minimal cheese on top. Honestly the worst food I?ve ever paid for. 20 pound for something worse than what you?d get in McDonald?s. Horrendous

Long wait for order to be served. Quite small portions for price paid. Service was excellent and staff very helpful.
