We love Cafe Carmel! We have come to Bacton on holiday for the past two years and enjoy popping in for excellent coffee and lovely cakes. The staff are friendly and we feel very welcome here. It?s great even if you?re not vegan.

Honest to god one of the most delicious vegan burgers i've ever had. A really great little business where one can see the love and passion everywhere.

Wonderful, all vegan cafe - delicious food, good prices, and the staff are SO lovely. Incredible range of vegan cake (so good that our non-vegan family members all had a slice after trying ours), and 10 mins from the beach.

Cafe Carmel is a delightful little cafe in the pretty village of Bacton. It has a lovely vibe and the food is gorgeous. The cakes are amazing. I had white chocolate and raspberry. Heaven on a plate! Very good vegan choices. Very good friendly service. One of the best vegan cafes in the Norfolk coast.

We absolutely loved this vegan cafe. The cheese scone was absolutely delicious, it was served warm and had wholegrain mustard in the dough, the biscoff cookie pie was everything you?d hope it would be, beautifully sweet and scrummy. The cafe was busy, filled with lots of different people including wheelchair users and doggos but we were greeted quickly and given a cosy table in the corner, the service was really good. We will absolutely be back to try more cake/lunch and cannot wait.

What a Gem of a place
Been coming to Bacton for 15 years and I've never noticed this place before until it was mentioned to me
How wonderful that dog friendly, really meant dog friendly.
We were soaked from the beach and rain, was given a towel for Loki and she was still allowed to sit on the big comfy sofa with me.
I'm not Vegan, but had the vegan breakfast and it was lovely. Who needs meat when a breakfast tastes that good.
The staff were wonderful and I sat chatting to the owner for a while.
Had to try a cup cake with my coffee, which didn't disappoint.
I'm definitely going back when I'm next here

We love this place,
It has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, We are always greeted like friends which I find quite rare these days.
The food is always fresh and delicious.
They allow dogs in which is great for us as we have a little Border Sausage who we take with us.
It is always clean, tidy and presentable. It's worth noting they have a 5 star hygiene rating too.
We really like the food and drink which is also offered to take away if so desired.
We can't recommend this place high enough.

A lovely little café set in a pretty village. The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The cafe was empty when I arrived, nearly two hours later almost every table was taken. Great to see the support for this place.
I picked up a Ploughman?s lunch to take away and strolled down to the beach, just a few minutes? walk away ? the perfect spot for a relaxing lunch. Later in the day, I couldn?t resist returning for one of their delicious-looking cheese scones to enjoy for tea.
It?s not the sort of place you?d expect to find a vegan café, it?s great to see them doing so well. Dogs are warmly welcomed, parking can be a little limited ? there?s a small lay-by directly outside, but space is only available for a few cars.

We are huge fans of this plant based friendly cafe on the coast in Norfolk. The food is absolutely delicious and the cake, cheeze scones, and cooked breakfast are all amazing. The owners are lovely and it is always one of the highlights of a stay in the area. Give it a look - you won?t be disappointed !

We went to Cafe Carmel on Sunday 11th Feb 2025 for a celebratory Sunday lunch. It was our first experience of the cafe as we were staying in a house about 200 yards away for my 70th birthday. There were 12 of us, 9 adults and 3 children (several vegans and vegetarians so a great find) and we all had really wonderful meals. Nothing was too much trouble, all the meals arrived roughly together, which is no mean feat in such a small, cosy cafe AND we could have wine or beer with our meals. The service was wonderful and Tilda was great fun. All in all a 10/10 experience for us all. Thank you for having us. Jane and family

I just had the perfect cup of tea at Cafe Carmel, with the most delicious spicy gingery chai latte cake. And although it was full and busy, the place was calm and friendly for both myself and my elderly dog. I'll be back!

Very cute café with a welcoming and lively atmosphere. A variety of sweet and savoury dishes - cakes and scones and cookies, but also wraps and burgers and salads.
Me and my partner have visited a few times during our holiday in the area and the staff have always been very friendly. It's always been busy with locals too (and with lots of well behaved dogs!).
The cheese on toast was amazing, I never make it myself at home because I can't get vegan cheese to melt! But they seem to have nailed it :) We tried the wraps too, good quality ingredients and well prepared. The wraps being toasted meant it held together really nicely.
The cookies were also delicious on the day we tried them, they were the perfect middle ground between a soft cookie and a snappy cookie. We are big cookie fans.
Absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is vegan, vegetarian, or even an omnivore ;)
Kid-friendliness: It's quite a small space, with lots of decorations. I know that my sister would struggle to bring her 3 kids here as they are little whirlwinds! So your mileage may vary. There's not a lot of space for buggies, and there's no baby change, but there is a toilet.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a small ramp outside the front door, but it's quite a tight space inside. The toilet is through a door at a right angle, so it might be a struggle to make the turn.

Four of us had lunch here, all trying something different from the menu. All the food and drinks were great and the hosts are friendly and kind. Will definitely return when we're visiting Bacton again.
Vegetarian options: Everything on the menu is vegan.
