This gallery was in my hometown of Bebington as a child. I loved visiting here and was introduced to some beautiful art that still has an impression on me decades later. Now in Australia and reminiscing about this wonderful place. A treasure.

Admission is FREE:
History, history, history, this gallery is full of... yes, you guessed it, history. Housed in a truly exceptional buliding and in many rooms, you will find 'one of the UK's finest collections of fine and decorative art', along with other special exhibitions. Downstairs, there is an excellent cafe, their scones are second to none. If you visit in the colder months come dressed for cold, you won't overheat or, worse, be chilled (as I was). On the way out, visit the gift shop there, as elsewhere on the Port Sunlight site, you will find happy, friendly, informative staff to assist you.

A beautiful collection. The building is a fitting tribute to one of Britain's great industrialists.
One of the highlights of Merseyside.
Best bit: The sculpture rooms.
Only downside:
As you walk in, there is a large propaganda banner for a cringey 2020 American political fad.
Embarrassing and disrespectful to the founder of the gallery.

A hidden gem in pretty Port Sunlight with (amongst many other things) a wonderful collection of Wedgwood jasperware. Definitely worth a visit and is very peaceful if you can visit off-peak

Wonderful collection of Pre-Raphaelite work set in the impressive Port Sunlight community

I'm lucky enough to live fairly close to the gallery, so getting there isn't any trouble. I went mid-morning, mid week, so parking wasn't a problem. We went to the cafe first and I really enjoyed the rainbow cake.
It's a lovely quiet amble around. It's not very big and there wasn't a special exhibition on. It was very relaxing and good to take notice of details which could be missed. Every time you go to such places you may notice something different or meet someone interesting. I use it as a kind of reset from a busy life.
Since it's free, it feels easy, yet I do like to leave a donation as they do need help with the building in particular.

Beautiful, hidden treasure. Free admission
Only gripe, they only accepted cash.
Struggled to pay for the lunch in the cafe and souvenir shop too! But the stunning beams were sensational.
Homemade broccoli soup with warm roll and butter was lovely and the cappuccino too!
So much more to see, would definitely return.

The Lady Lever Gallery is charming and full of gems and you can easily kill a few hours walking around. The grounds around the gallery are lovely and the village is charming and quaint. The only negative I'd say is that the gallery does feel a little disjointed to navigate at times and doesn't flow as well as some other museums and galleries and did start to become slightly overwhelming after a while - this could just be me and also due to maintenance and works in the gallery, but just a heads up to others, there's a lot to take in! I was however ecstatic to discover a whole wall of paintings featuring Elisabeth Siddal, the pieces in the galleries? collections are stunning and definitely worth a visit.

Loved the gallery and followed it up with the walking tour around Port Sunlight (- instruction leaflets £1.50 from the Museum diagonally opposite the gallery). One or two of the big ticket pictures not on display, but I think that?s to be expected.
What?s not really expected is that, months in to a breakdown in their technology, the Gallery is still cash only. Certainly constrained our Gift Shop and cafe choices! And Port Sunlight village did not have, as far as we could see, any cash machines.

A wonderful gallery. We had a free 40 min tour with Steph which was amazing. She brought a fascinating and engaging insight into a few of her favourite pieces. Thank you, Steph. We so enjoyed it.
A great place to visit...and free parking!

All National Museums in Liverpool are free and so are their Galleries.
If anyone wants to make a donation, that is welcome too.
Spectacular performances and exhibitions.
