Great initiative to create in the market building and to restore footfall. A little bit pricey for the quality of food some stalls offer, but it's family friendly and a good place to visit if people in your party want to enjoy different cuisines at the same time!

Went to try Southport Market for the first time early on Saturday evening. It was full of people of all ages. However they were playing some sort of thumpy music very loudly. As we had come to eat, drink and chat rather than dance we left . I had previously been to a similar establishment in Lisbon that didn't feel the need to double as a club.I think perhaps they need to reconsider their music policy.

this place is awesome, could do with being a bit cheaper. shame that not all the food places are not open. had salt and pepper chicken chips awesome, then had pulled pork nachos very nice. can be a bit cold so leave your coat on

Fantastic place! Just what Southport needs. Our experience of the food was bad, Mexican was poor to average, burger was terrible, cheap meat full of grizzle with a horrible taste, poutine not great, french toast and fruit was good. The food isn?t authentic and that?s what is wrong. Great place for drinks and to chill out but wouldn?t eat there again.

Lovely place, nice vibe. Needs a few more vegan options though. Thankfully The allotment has a few lovely options

Highly recommended. What a great revamp. It had a great vibe and the chilli dog and Katsu curry and chips was great from The Allotment.

Fantastic food! Had the chicken noodle box, full of flavour and quick service. To finish off I had the Nutella chocolate explosion bubble waffle. Lovely treat to finish off. Southport Market also has a Doggie Drinks Bar for anyone with a dog. Would fully recommend a visit! Check Google opening times before attending.

Called in for a coffee and look around, wow, looking forward to returning for food, great choice of small food outlets, had a good vibe, something different.

Decided to try the refurbished market on a Friday lunchtime. Plenty of people eating and plenty of choices for food. We will be back to try the other stores! Hopefully they get the price point right.

I think the refurbishment looks good, it certainly needed it. The problem I see is that we are just coming into better times, we don't live too far away and yesterday we we're meeting the grandkids, and we looked forward to going for something to eat in the market, let me say that yesterday , 24, Aug. Southport was really buzzing we hadn't seen so many people like that for a long time, so, unbelievably, the market is closed. After the time we have been through, I would have thought that every opportunity to get things moving would be jumped at, why is it closed? many people where turning up to discover the same thing, no money will be made with the doors locked. K.D.

Came across Southport market by accident but what a find. First thinks first this is not a traditional market but a food court market. There are 10 to 12 food outlets providing freshly cooked food from around the world all centered around a central bar.The whole area is clean and tidy we arrived at 12 and it was already filling up, grabbed 2 coffee's a BBQ pork and Asian slaw bao bun and some freshly made sushi both were really nice such a good find and somewhere we would come back to again.

The street-food style marketplace food hall is packed with high-class food merchants including The Allotment, Birkdale Pie and Pitamu.Lots of different food options including pie, burgers, gyros, pizza. Great atmosphere with good decor. The drink selection isn?t fantastic but the cask beer pumps were just being installed so soon it will improved.

The new Southport Market is actually a food hall. Different stallholders sell various country's takeaway/Street food. There is the Allotment offering burgers and hot dogs, The Vincent with sushi and noodle dishes, 600 degree pizza offering speciality pizzas cooked in 90 seconds, a Greek stall with everything from meat to vegetarian kebabs and sweet Greek pastries, a Waffle stall for the sweet toothed and, interestingly, a Canadian stall serving poutine, Canadian steaks and other interesting delicacies. The stalls are distributed around the edges of a large hall and at the centre is a huge bar (designed to look like a fairground attraction) serving alcoholic, soft and hot drinks. You choose and pay for your food, get issued an electronic beeper and when it flashes and bleeps your food is ready for collection. Families/friends can therefore sit together but each person can choose food from a different stall. A simple but elegant way of catering for different tastes. Average price for a main is £9-£10, but the portions are large and the burgers we had were extremely tasty. An interesting concept and well worth a visit.

Went to the new food market on first day of opening to have a look. Ended up staying and was not disappointed. One had loaded beef Nacho's (picture ) and the other chicken noodle box. Both extremely nice, on the expensive side, but would go again. Very enjoyable experience.

Southport Market has been reincarnated as a world food hall with a lovely, large central bar. Please don?t be put off by the low star reviews for the original market that has been in decline for some years.Only recently reopened, this place already has a buzz about it. The decor is cool yet respectful of Southport?s seaside town history. Ten food venues are already in place; everything from Mexican street food, Canadian poutine, pie & mash, waffle desserts etc. Ideal for pub goers, families and everyone in between.Blackhurst Butchers, a long-standing resident of the original market, is thankfully still there; hopefully supplying most of the food venues. This place is most definitely going to do well - definitely worth a visit.
