“Walked into Southport branch today to make an appointment to make changes to my account. Was greeted by Lewis who was very friendly and welcoming. Even better news was that my changes could be done immediately and no appointment needed. Sat with Mary who was really friendly, knowledgeable and super efficient. Was a brilliant experience from the minute I walked into the branch. Excellent service and definitely 5 star.”

“This is a lovely, family run cafe with friendly staff. It has everything you want on a menu that has something for everyone. I'm vegan, so I was happy to see some dishes suitable for me. A full breakfast or a salad if I'm feeling healthier. The coffee is fab & it's a popular place with a great atmosphere. It can seem busy, but I like that as it's a good vibe & service is always quick. When I'm in Churchtown it's my go to place & I'm never disappointed. Throughly recommended!”

“Have been going to this Post Office a while now as Southport town does not take Evri over the counter. Staff always pleasant and efficient. On last occasion I had trouble with my phone code and Tony was so helpful in sorting for me. Tony and all staff are a credit to the Post office. ?????”

“I'm sorry a few customers have had a bad experience, but for me it was good did most of it online only called in to use ATM pin ect ,lady blonde pleasent face over whelming help gave me envelopes for deposits if closed and told me that transfers could be done directly to savings account and don't need to go thru current account which I didn't know so well done .I would just say though Banks's are there to make money not necessarily friend's .”

“Friendly staff but prices on the high side especially as there is competition from Spar and Sainsbury nearby and a new Aldi not too far away. Can't always get what I want.Previously Mccolls now taken over by Morrisons.Visited last night and apart from a rearrangement of the shelves nothing much seemed to have changed. Found the price for 4 litres of milk 10p dearer than at Sainsbury's Local, Tesco Extra and Aldi as well as at Morrisons Winter Gardens store. Didn't check other prices but they seem to have risen since it changed hands.”

“We shop here frequently, and like most large supermarkets, it is invariably busy.Parking is in a large pay and display car park, shared with other stores in the retail park. The fee is refundable only in Asda with minimum purchases of £5.The selection of goods is as expected for a large superstore, including a variety of household items, electrical goods and clothing, in addition to the usual food stuffs and produce. Also like many supermarkets, the ratio of self-scanning tills to those operated by staff is not quite right and there are almost always queues. The self scanners always require the intervention of staff, in my experience. Today it went wrong right at the start after weighing our empty bags. However staff intervention was quick and efficient on this occasion, despite it being busy. This is not always the case. The store contains other services including photo printing, an optician, and a pharmacy, all of which, I have used many times previously, and can recommend.”

“I visit a branch in Southport today. I just stepped inside the bank, and immediately was approached by the manager who offered a help. When I explained the reason of my visit, the manager informed a colleague of hers about my case and I was offered support. Joyce, who was dealing with my case, was professional, very patient and had a great sense of humour. I am a very satisfied customer.”

“We went into the branch to help with a very difficult transaction (reactivating a dormant account from Abbey National years before) and it proved to be a real challenge but Mel was an absolute superstar, taking two hours to work through the process, verify our IDs, coordinate with the call centre, wrestle with the computer and make sure the job got done. She was efficient, helpful, friendly and fun, making the process as easy as possible.

The branch was very busy on a sunny Friday lunchtime with many people coming in not being too courteous to staff as soon as they arrived for no reason so the staff are a credit to Santander in the way they respond in a police and friendly manner.

A special mention to James also for helping establish our account and complete the transaction.

Thanks so much - in an age of automation, internet and call centres, Mel and the crew show why branches are essential for dealing with complex issues. Thanks so much !!”
