Most charities are anything but. People running these places are on the take.

Hello. My family and I often shop there and donate here. The last time I found a product that I wanted and went to pay for it was a week ago, and at the cashier I was told that it could not be sold because it was an employee error and the product had not been checked. When asked when the product could be purchased, the man rudely replied that he did not know and even raised his voice. I mean when he didn't like the too low price that was set and that's why he didn't sell it to me. It was also before Christmas. 2 lanterns cost 10 pounds and the next day I came to look again and thought of buying but the price was already set when each lantern is 10 pounds. I don't see any donation shops there anymore, but real businesses with a couple of rude employees. People bring and donate out of a good conscience. And a donation should be when you can buy goods for a symbolic amount, not at the prices of a store where I will buy a completely new product. I believe when they use a person good hearts maliciously. There should be a labor inspectorate to watch them.

I'm new to the area and always support my local charity shops. After reading these reviews re overpricing and rudeness I will stick with the ones I have already found. I do not take kindly to being ripped off and it seems that's how you operate. I believe people's comments - they have no reason to lie. We all want the same things from a charity shop - respect and BARGAINS!!

Staff rude not polite r helpful in any way.items r more expensive than Argos considering they have been donated charity shops are suppose to help people in need but I feel they help themselves more.staff don't even say hello please thank u r anything staff should be learnt some manners.Willowbrook in the hardshaw centre are really polite and speak to u like u r a person n not some low life.Sorry if this feedback offends anyone but this is how I was left to feel. Charity means charity I donate to charity's n other places because I want to n I know it helps people I always have a smile on my face when I am dealing with anyone manners cost nothing.Sutton Willowbrook shop needs a lot attention stop staff taking r paying less than the general public do its not fair we all know u do it so know need to lie about it that's not what bothers me it's the horrible rude Manners staff have know need for it.

Overpriced items on the floor, and all the good items don't even end up for sale. I wouldn't donate again nor buy here

This place is not charity but normal business. Don't donate there guys !! the staff for sale gives rubbish, takes good things for themselves and sells them on the market !!! - this is proven information, from a certain source. (i.e. it is a theft?).This money does not go to the needy in the hospice, this is not what a charity organization should look like !!This place should be of interest to governmental authorities that oversee charitable organizations. If you want to help, give your stuff to other stores, where the staff is honest, not to this place !!

Called in today thinking they were open until 3.30 as it said on the website. Unfortunately due to a shortage of volunteers they are only able to take donations in the morning. But as we only had a few bits they very kindly took them off us. Yes they are limited in what they take as they know what people want but they were really helpful. I would have offered to volunteer if I wasnt already volunteering elsewhere. If youve a few hours to spare get in touch I'm sure they would welcome you

I took lots of things here the other day as I like to do my bit for charity. There were 2 men that were very rude and wanted to pick and choose what they wanted from the bags. One man went through one bag saying no, no, no can't take that bag! Thew it back at me! Then the next he took a few bits out and threw the rest my way. In the end I took it all back as I couldn't listen to his condescending manner any longer. The customer service and appreciation was non existent! Call them self a charity. They were the most ungrateful people i have ever encountered!I took them to age UK in Ashton in makerfield where the staff there were so helpful and thankful for the donations. I will continue to go to age UK from now on. I was made very welcome and everytime someone buys one of my items they gift aid 25p!Willow Brook take note and sort your staff out!

Bought 2 wardrobes from this shop, paid £25 for delivery. Upon bringing them in the delivery drivers damaged one.I refused both as they matched. Returned to shop with my receipt for a refund.Money was put on counter with no apology, no refund of delivery money!Told to take it up with boxmove even though contract is with shop who arranges delivery.Whilst making a complaint about the delivery the person on the till spoke over me and started to speak to another member of staff about a completely unrelated issue.Very rude!Boxmove have refused refund as they are now saying wardrobe not damaged.I had nails and bits of wood on my floor that came out of wardrobe. They have patched it back up and put it back on sale weve been told.Im angry and shocked at this treatment. We regularly buy items from there. Will definitely not give them any more custom.Disgraceful behaviour for a charity, and for people who represent them. The delivery charge is a lot of money to lose and i will be taking my money elsewhere in future. Shameful!!

This place used to be good. I've spent a lot of money here over the years. Unfortunately, now I generally walk in, then walk out empty handed. The good stuff isn't on the shop floor. I know certain staff take the good stuff. Prices are better than they were when that horrible, rude, female manager was running the show. Thank god she's gone. So, unfortunately, it's gone way down in my estimation, which is a real shame.

I?ve made quite a few visits recently to donate stuff from my caravan and I just wanted to say how helpful the chaps were - always cheerful and full of laughs and this morning I was even treated to a song and dance! Thanks ?

Staff very rude. I had to take my 3yr old grandson the toilet as he was needing to go there and then... and a blonde woman from staff came tapping on the toilet door saying he can't use the toilet. I understand that the toilets are used for staff, but due to being in a situation that was given Ishould let him WET himself and be uncomfortable all afternoon ... and as I was in a Charity shop ... then shouldn't the staff have been more charitable and on this occasion have a little bit of thought and pit this into practice!... My grandson was very upset as the woman was tapping on the door and pointing at the sign and shouting its for "staff"... as I tried to explain what had happened... I'm sure it would have been a differe6story if my Graham an accident and wet on the floor where the public walk... so I did what was needed and took him the toilet!I think maybe The CARING that was worded on the shop front needs to be put into practice... thanks for nothing...
