Arrived at the hotel and was required to call a mobile number to be given access. Took a couple of calls which was less than ideal given it was cold and chucking it down, but an answer on the second attempt. Got up to the room and first thoughts was, it was cold. Room 8A I was. There was a radiator so I assumed heating would kick in at some point. Went away for dinner and came back to the same temperatures. Got into bed and hoped for the best. However, the temperature situation did not improve, and worse more, the radiator had me up every hour making clicking noises. Perhaps trying to fire into life but such things never happened. The closest I actually got to warmth in the room was the good amount of tea and coffee provided, this was a welcome delight in all fairness. The toilet facilities are small, but adequate. I beg the nation to stray away from shower curtains however, they limit your room as they?re sucked in when the shower is on and having one stuck to you is a grim feeling! A door would improve that situation tenfold.Overall, an adequate stay, radiator needs seeing to as a matter of urgency!

The worst hotel I've ever been to, the bathroom is a disaster and there's fungus in the room, so whoever gave it three stars, I don't recommend it

well i am sorry to say this i know this was cheap but the standard of this bed and Breakfast was appalling there is mold on the blinds and behind the bed. This is a so called bed and breakfast with no breakfast.i am very disappointed with this property as the radiator in the bathroom was not working it does not meet the standards i would expect the price is reasonable but to have mold in the rooms is not at all expectable to be honest i am glad it was only for one night as my wife has no imune system and she was cold all the time we where there with a little work that can be a nice place to stay but not for me or my wife

Been a while since I was here but have used it a few times. Prices are reasonable compared to most guest houses of similar size, rooms are kept clean and there's always a good supply of tea, coffee, milk etc as well. Good access from the M6 via the M62 link to st Helens, the route brings you to the traffic lights outside (You get there via Thatto Heath so you're just round the corner at the lights. The main car park is small, maybe a bit tight for a van, but there are a few extra spaces opposite the vehicle entrance just ask. Not sure about wheelchair access, there are no lifts, this is a former residential home so I'm sure there must be some kind of access. Dining room is on the first floor and breakfast is always plentiful with a choice of cereals for self service. The full English cooked is delicious and you actually see it being cooked through the serving hatch. There's a TV in each room and some rooms look out over the busy dual carriageway to Taylor park. There's usually a few staff around in the morning but check in etc is done by 1 lovely lass who's been there pretty much since the place opened. There are cameras all round the external sections, including the entrance and car park. I would choose Park View over the main hotel in town any day, love the place.Nearby activities: Taylor park across the road is a lovely place for a morning walk or run. There's an old boating lake that's quite big, and the footpath guess all the way round. Keep walking round you come to the open grassed area which is perfect for a picnic, there's also a little cafe at the lake, in the original boat house. The park was recently refurbished but I've not been there since then but I'm told it's really nice. About a 20 minute drive is Sherdley park which is the biggest of the local parks. Plenty of swings etc for the kids, a medium size lake with ducks and swans and loads of open space. Plenty of parking right next to the kids play area. There's a large golf club and a large driving range at opposite sides of the park. Town is a 10 minute drive with loads of parking spaces over the 3 shopping malls. I'd advise using the bus, the stop is just over the road and the bus drops you right in the center at the bus station. If you want a spot of fishing, the At.Helens canal is a short walk from the bus station, it is AA licensed fishing so you'll need a permit, not sure where you get them.

The hotel is well below standard. There is mould on walls and windows, which I'm allergic to, there is holes in ceilings and doors and the bedding is stained. There is more water coming out of the tiny shower unit than there was coming out of the shower head, the towels provided barely cover myself. People were fighting during the night and there was no staff on site to deal with it. Plug sockets don't work and there are big screws sticking out of the bunk beds which they tried covering with duct tape which is really unsafe having children in the room. The room is dusty and covered in cob webs and between the dogs accross the road constantly barking, people in the hotel banging doors and shouting, the sheer heat in the room even with the few windows that open are open, my partner, myself and my children have had no sleep! I really think the amount charged is very unreasonable for what is provided compared to a place like premier Inn which is only £10 more to stay in!

Stayed here for 1 night. Very clean plenty tea coffee sugar. I was in room 2... very bad down side rudely awaken but the room next door at 1am... walls very thing door leading between them they kept banging on it shouting and little girl kept screaming... scream fair enough but bang on the door out off order... shame really as it spoilt a good stay... booking in you have to ring a number as key is in key safe lady on other end of the fone wad very very polite spoke to her further and she was so so helpful..

Very clean and comfortable, the only thing I have to say against it is it was to warm for me, I kept waking up throughout the night due to being too hot, but other than that it's one of the best guest houses I've used, and doing my job I've used a few
